Last year, on the 10th it was 55 degrees outside at 11am. I think the high was like 62 in Central Tx. (I remember because it was the first cold front of the year and I had the day off to finaly be able to spend sometime outside with our 6 month old daughter...)

This year, high looks to be 97 on that day. Texas weather.o_O

From the mid 80's today to a high in the 50s tomorrow and freezing temps tomorrow night in CTX. Gotta love Texas weather.

This looks like "what would happen if your local news broadcast broke out into song". That being said, Marilyn McCoo was one fine woman. Lord.

On topic : It got up to around 83/84 in the DFW area today... this is the part of the year I abhor Texas weather (well, also Spring and Summer sometimes).

You mean like last year when the power kept going out? Yeah, no thanks. I'm not a snow fan (well, more like I'm not an ice fan), but I'm a 25-40 degree weather fan in winter.

This is the warmest December weather yet. I have been in Houston nearly 30 years. I was telling my friend that this winter feels so warm. I'm running the air conditioner every day and my plants doesn't need to be covered yet. Usually by mid November is when I covered the plants.

Possible quad state tornado last night that has devastated hundreds of communities. There hasn’t been a tornado that traveled 3 states since 1925.

Still TBD if it was one tornado or if the super cell was producing two or more during its track. Mayfield is destroyed..

That's really horrific about the tornado outbreak and all the deaths/injuries.

Tornadoes in December is not something one usually thinks a lot about but seems to be more commonplace as the climate is changing with global warming.

Several states were affected but I think it was 1 tornado (the one below) that traveled 4 states. Ground obs will have to determine if it was one tornado or multiple from that same cell. I couldn’t imagine this thing barreling toward me..

Here are rotation tracks observed in the black elongated outline

And a loop of the entire cell as it traveled across 4 states.. unbelievable. It takes perfect conditions for a cell to travel that far and continue to hold/gain strength in the process.

Just saw the Mayfield tornado is estimated to have had winds up to 300mph.. an F5 is 201+ mph on the Enhanced Fujita scale (revised in 2007 to better reflect damage taking into consideration how most structures are designed).
