Bentonville, Arkansas and the surrounding areas are pretty awesome. Massive Walton Family Money has created a huge arts scene, hotels/restaurants/bars/etc....
Finally have both power and internet in Spring. Was at my friend's bar for a while since they had both...and then the power went back out around 1:30. I do not know how people live without a/c in this climate. It's stupidly hot...and apparently going to be worse next week. Thankfully I'll be spending much of it in Port Aransas and in the water.
The Crystal Bridges Museum was a pretty cool visit when I went up there, and I'm not really even into artsy stuff. The area around it is probably awesome in the Fall. I used to go up to NW Arkansas about 3 or 4 times a year just to get away from the city, but in the past decade or two, that Bentonville/Rogers/Cave Springs/Bella Vista area has exploded. It's starting to look like your every day suburb except they actually have nature nearby. I'd really like to move up there, but the storms and tornado threat up there is nuts.
Whelp, my AC died. Here’s the stopgap I bought to get me through until I can get it replaced. I may need a couple more.
I feel you man, got two AC units, pipe frozen and little to no airflow coming out of the vents. 90 inside the house, took like 6 cold showers just to stay cool throughout the day.
Damn, dude - wouldn't an extended stay hotel have been cheaper? LOL. I had no idea Madea made AC units.
I made a similar joke. ‘Tyler Perry is a marketing genius!’ Ac guy came the next day and of course the AC turned on. He told me to check the overflow pan and drain pipe and it was clogged, so I cleaned it out and it’s been running since. I just assumed the AC was dead because it was so old and didn’t do any troubleshooting. ACs went back to Sam’s.
I call an AC guy every year to do an annual AC check-up just before the summer to make sure everything is good. The AC man recommends it. (Of course he would... but still.) He always ends up finding something that can be cleaned or replaced or adjusted. And though I know it really sounds like he's just taking advantage of my ignorance, I actually believe he's not.
No food while on the job. He is allowed to sit down at least 3 times but for no more than 2 minutes at a time.
