I know it's not a new idea,but since gortat is about to wear Marv's uniform,I think it's time for us to reconsider him. 1.we have signed Ariza with a full MLC,we have little competition on the Free Agent Market. 2.yao's gonna rest for at least half of the season,even if he could recover completely,I think he only has 2-3 years to play at "20+10" level.Tabeet takes the rookie contract for 3 years ,if he is a potential ALL-STAR,then when yao's golden career is gone,he can take over the leadership.If he is not what we expected,then there is no need to keep him. 3.Does anyone remember Donte Greene?the guy who took 40' in a summer game,was expected by us to be a all-star ,where is he now ?Now everyone is glad we got Taylor,even nobody minds Von's leaving.Can anyone promise me he won't turn into another Greene? so here is my idea:two rookies + McGrady = Tabeet + ... personal view.
Gasol may be easier to get, i guess it depends on who's making more money sooner since memphis just wants to run a business and not a basketball team.
What is Thabeet going to give you? Some defense with some shot blocking? I'd prefer a more rounded guy like Gasol. Hey, why not? We can always try to put together a lineup like the Lakers. Bynum: ?
