can anyone elaborate how he has changed or his game has changed for that matter to convince a hater like me otherwise?

his story seems to be one that completely started over.

I think the worst part of his career was when he was playing for D'Antoni and the Knicks and he was on the verge of an emotional breakdown.

In China, he could still play with a chip on his shoulder but he didn't have to deal with the pressure of the NBA, the media, his entourage, and the backlash of the fans, etc.

on his twitter acct, he still appears to be the same dude. he's just won a title in a professional basketball context now. do you guys really think this has changed him?

    honest, curious question.

Agree. There is nothing else out there in terms of free agent PGs.

Marbury did average 27/5/6 on 56% shooting, and led his team to the China league championship. He was 7th in league scoring, and 3rd in league assists. While clearly not NBA competition, I'll bet he's a lot better than Boykins.

What would it hurt to pro-rate the veteran's minimum to see if he can help us? If he becomes a cancer, than cut him swiftly. He's in game shape, and has to be able to give us more than Boykins for 10-14 minutes per game on both ends of the floor. Lowry may not be back, we need to upgrade the backup PG spot.

Never stated he would come back to the NBA, to any team.

I kinda see it as a Vassillis Spanoulis thing. Couldnt handle being on the bench in the NBA after being treated like THE MAN.

Also the way he's approaching his CBA career, it seems he's accepted moving on WITHOUT the NBA in mind. Maybe its whats allowed him to SOAK UP the experience better there

His last NBA stint was with the DEFENDING CHAMPION Boston Celtics. They actually wanted him back, but he wasnt motivated to do that again even.

Though all that said, MONEY is ALWAYS a factor. If for some odd reason he gets an offer for twice or three times what he's making now, I'm sure he'll at least think of an NBA return.
