I really have mixed feelings about Horry. I love the guy, as he helped us win the championships. On the other hand, I really don't know how much he really has left. I also agree that he would just push our youngsters farther down the bench. It probably doesn't matter. I remembering there being some bad blood. I know there was with Calvin Murphy.

Can anyone elaborate on his daughter's illness? Perhaps that may have affected his playing during the previous season...

I would love to bring back Horry AND Cassell to the team, with Stevie at the two. I'd be willing to give up Griff of Mo if it were possible.

Call me a homer, but if Campbell or Moon had any game left, I'd want them on the Texan's, also.

I'd hate to see this happen. Aren't you guys HORRIFFIED that he'll teach Eddie Griffin some stuff?

Whoever we bring in needs to be a mentor and Eddie's role model.

PJ Brown, Antonio Davis, TyHill, Anthony Mason can teach him some good BASKETBALL skills...

Personally, you can kep all of those old guys. What has Glen Rice taught our players like Posey and Nachbar? He's a veteran not to far removed from a ring and I doubt that his impact would be any greater than if Francis played defense better and passed the ball better also. Now if you could bring in a productive veterantthat could lead by his stellar play, thats different.

I think it would be worth the $1.5 million just to teach our guys how to make an entry pass. Sigh...

I'll take TMo's game over Horrys game right now. TMo has a smooth mid-range J not to mention a nice 3 ball. The limited time he's gotten this year, he's made the most of and I like to see how he develops with more PT. Of course we'll never know for sure (just like Boki) because Rudy won't play him.

    That's another thread...

Robert Horry and Calvin Murphy's daughter have a child together. Hence the bad blood. Calvin and Rudy are close friends. Horry will not play for the Rockets.

His wife and children live in Houston from what I've always heard.

He can shoot the 3 - but he can't make the 3. He used to be a clutch 3pt shooter, but there are signs that that is fading. Without that, pass....

Horry's best years are behind him. The Rocks are better developing their younger talent at the 3 and the 4, than giving Horry any minutes.

I can live with $1.5m vet exception. Anything more will be uncivilised.

Too back Jackson found out too late that Medvedenko is presently more valuable than him. Yeah I will take Medvedenko for $2M instead of Horry.

Truth be told - Horry wants to come back to the Rockets and he is NOT hiding it (according to reports).

I could think of worse 12th men than Horry. And Horry would probably be fine with not getting any PT.

What about working a trade (S & T or not) with MoT for Horry (2 year contract at the most) and player (George) or the Lakers 1st round pick? Lakers get a 4 they need, and we move Mo's contract in the process. Of course this only works if we are hopeful EG develops into a regular 4 or we do another trade or MCE signing for an everyday 4 because neither this year's version of Horry nor Griffin is a suitable everyday 4.

Robert Horry has never shown any leadership qualities through out his career. The only selling point on bringing in Horry is that he is money during crunch time in the playoffs but one thing, this current Rockets team needs to get to the playoffs first in order for horry to be valuable to them and the only way they are getting to the playoffs with this current roster is if Stern expands the playoff field to 16 teams per conference.
