He is bursting at the seems to play, but another VG wants defense and rebounding instead They need a PG, why not trade them Mike James? JJ can play. DD
He is better than Novak on D. And not a bad shot either He is better than Luther, or James at this point, and fits in with a motion offense that we are running. DD
Orlando swears they are not dealing JJ. I swear they are not trading #11 for mj's contract. This may top your list of poorly conceived, vacuous Threads.
Not that I doubt he's better defensively than Novak (it be hard not to be.. though Steve is better this year than last), but what does linking to Redick's stats have to do with defense. Because he has a couple of steals?
Um...ok. How are his stats supposed to prove he plays good defense? So far from what I've seen, he only plays garbage minutes anyways, so I don't think they prove anything (other then that he's a garbage player? Eh.). And saying he's better then Head makes this kinda laughable...:/ And the fact that Mike James for JJ is your choice of getting him...makes this really impossible and more laughable. Salaries etc.
Sorry, flip flopped my comments.... just putting them out there to show he can shoot too, the article says his D is ok.....at least that is what Stan Van Gundy is saying. DD
Well I know the salaries would have to match, but just putting out the key components....... As for whether he is better than Head......he was in college, and Head is horrible on D.....I doubt Redick is worse than that. DD
Mmm...defense-wise? Maybe. It doesn't take much to beat Luther there. However, that overlooks the fact that Head is a proven NBA starter/key reserve. while Redick, so far, has been a proven garbage man.
I would take that risk, as Head has probably peeked, unless he miraculously learns how to pass and dribble.... I do think JJ is better than him....but admit it is a gamble. DD
i was thinking about this same trade the other day, most of you guys are right that he's just a smaller novak, but i'm just a redick fan and i'd love to see him play here
On offense, it would be more of an advantage to have a shooter at the 4 spot. The opposing power forward would have to come out of his comfort zone to guard the perimeter and in turn would open up the inside to Yao Ming. If we played the lineup of Rafer-Head-McGrady-Novak-Yao, then we could get just one-on-one coverage for Yao Ming. I'm not sure on defense though. It is worse to have a poor defender at the wing? (needing to guard the more athletic players) Or a poor defender in the post? (needing to guard stronger players and rebound the ball)
