I think Mayo's a bit overrated because he was such a high profile guy coming out of High School, but I like him. He reminds me of a right-handed Cuttino. Don't see us getting him.

At times i wish the PPG stat would disappear, some players get grossly overrated, and others underrated. We've got a few here already, don't need, and don't want. He was buried in Memphis for a reason.

I read somewhere they may be keeping Mayo since Xavier Henry will be out a few weeks. Think it was Rotoworld.

I believe that Kyle Lowry was once buried in Memphis and look how he turned out once he got a chance. If Memphis was about to give him away for nothing then we should try and get this guy. Lee and Hill would do.

he's the guy that we should've pried out of memphis' hands instead of thabeet from that trade last year.

    Shane for Mayo + pick

He would be great on our team because he can create offense for himself. It wasn't too long ago that he and Eric Gordon were on the same trajectory. And we know how Memphis often picks the wrong horse to ride (Lowry/Conley).

He has more upside, but we need a 2012 1st (lottery protected) from the grizz if they want both those guys. We got Lowry for a bargain in hinsight, maybe the same thing could happen with mayo.

When talking about O.J. Mayo, where is this upside everybody keeps referring to?

His handle and instincts aren't good enough for him to play the point. Not only that but he's a poor defender against opposing two's (let alone against quicker PG's). And he's mostly just a jump shooter that doesn't draw fouls and is fresh off of a season where he basically scored 11 PPG on 11 shots.

    Average athlete. Little burst. Disappears.

....but don't worry, he's a former top three pick.

    Lee > Mayo

No thanks. He is worse then T-Will at turning over the ball. He tries to create for other but FAILS more then he succeeds.

why would u have mayo (unproven) player that is the same type of player as martin except he has never played more than 25 min per game on any season, because of his iq of baskestball... i rather have the rox trade martin to the grizzlies alomg with our 2012 1st rd pick for rudy gay...

This. This is why Martin's a priority to be traded.

Well he can create his own shot unlike Martin and plays better defense.

Solid summary. I think you are dead on right in describing Mayo.

However. the part me in bold really worries me. He is a bust and he was lottery. Morey loves high pick busts. Mayo is all Morey material. Mayo is coming to H-Town. :(
