Lets see, yes Kidd was a FA, but he is the best PG in the league so obviously he deserved the max so OBVIOUSLY he is out of our price range. O'neal is a great young center, no way Indy was gonna let him go either. The common thing about botht these superstars is that tehy resigned w/ their original teams so they can be givin the max. And u ask how do i know Odom is not resiging? Its because the Clipps are a cheap ass team, that have actually spent some money this summer, and I gurantee you they are not bringing Odom back because Stirling is known to always want to keep a clean locker room, and on a young team, one disruptive player can cause a cancer affect.

Rockets are not "WAY OVER" the salary cap at all they are hovering near the slaray cap, but with a sign and trade it doesnt matter if their 30 million over the cap, as long as salaries match. In this case these are not "bad contracts" Rice's contract is up in a year so they shave around 9 mil right there, and moochie can be a good backup PG.

The only reason Stirling is spending so much money this offseason is to put together a quality youthful squad that actually may have chance to make the playoffs. Jaric is a very raw PG, and to run a team that might have a slight chance at the playoffs, a veteran PG is a necessity, rather than spend money on Kenny Anderson, Moochie will be a nice addition to the young club...BECAUSE HE ISNT AS BAD AS YOU THINK.

    Yepit sure is

    1) Oneal is a power forward.
    2) Odom is going to cost close to the max if not all of it.
    3) If Sterling is cheap ass he wouldn't have paid for Brand. But even if he was, he wouldn't take on 8-10 mill in contracts just to get Odom to a diff team unless he was getting someone WORTH 8-10 million in return.
    4) You mentioned earlier that Odom has been in trouble with the law, he hasn't. he's been in trouble with pot. He has never been a "cancer".

    1) they are plenty over the salary cap and hovering very close to luxury tax territory, not hovering close to the cap itself.

2)when Rices contract comes off the book, Stevies huge max extension kicks in, and all the players we already have signed(Cato, MoT, Mobes) have escalating salaries, so Rices expiring contract will help, but not that much. It'll just keep us from the lux tax.

3)Being over the cap does matter, because that means sign and trade is the only option and means the Clipps would have to WANT to take back 8-10 mill of our contracts. Who would they want? Rice? No. Cato? no. MoT? Hell no. Mobes? Probly not. Moochie? No, but he doesn't come close salary wise anyway. The clipps would be better to just let him walk to another team.

It's the same squad he had last year, he's trying to keep the core pieces intact, not build a whole new freaking team. Jaric may be raw(which he's not, i so wish he was on our team), but Mooch makes him look like Kidd. The Clipps are very sold on Jaric, which is why they wont match andre. You are blind if you think Mooch has been a quality player the past couple of years. If he was quality why did his minutes keep getting cut? Cuz of his crappy play. If he was quality why would CD openly talk about how he played like **** last year? Cuz he has regressed since getting his fat contract. If he was quality why would the rockets be trying so desperatly to get a good backup pg this offseason instead of addressing the pf position? Because they know they can't count on Mooch as their only option and even Kevin freaking ollie and antonio daniels are lightyears ahead of him in all facets of the game that don' t include dribbling out the shot clock.

    Yepit sure is

    something i can agree with.

I love Odom. But he wont be wearing a rocket uni anytime soon.

Why dont you just post the idea on clippers board and see how their fans react? As fans outside houston LOVE moochie, maybe be they would even throw in some draft pick next year to make the deal.
