not that im for getting kevin garnett but whats with all the hate calling him a bad person, etc...the dude typically plays with fire and tenacity and would love to see that in our players, he is not a thug by any means. save that talk for the entire thuggets squad and amare stoudemire. he sacrificed the best years of his career because he was loyal to Minnesota. Unfortunately he got traded so late that he will probaly only retire with one ring but his talent, skill, leadership and basketball iq is up there with timmy d. the guy flat out wants to win and is will show that on the court. he hasn't raped anyone or been caught with drugs or accused of dui or assualt, he has never even been a part of a rival team, you haters are ridiculous...
yeah, he's no different than MJ in that department...many of the great players were like that....maybe some houston fans dont realize it because we had Dream, who was the opposite, but if Dream's game could talk it would say F U to everyone
You are not going to get any fair opinions on this board when talking about Kevin Garnett. DM absolutely loves him, and has always praised him and chalked him up as underrated. Still, I don't see Ainge blowing up ship...
Forget about blowing up ship, it's already happened. That team is beyond dead. Allen is gone after this season They are stuck with KG's contract for a couple more years and Pierce is aging. They knew when they made the trade for the "Big 3" that it was a win now move. That team is way to old and will not sniff a deep playoff run for a long time. Wouldn't be suprised to see Doc Rivers get the boot either. He's never been a great coach. He was lucky just to get Allen/Garnett/Pierce. It's nearly impossible to screw that combination up. Rondo has been nice for them, but playing behind Garnett/Allen/Pierce has more than helped.
Garnett can still be effective but in limited minutes not the 35+ min monster he has been throughout his career. It can be painful to watch him drag that leg up and down the court but if he was limited to 20-25 minutes a game, he could still be a difference maker. Garnett per 36 min is a 17 and 9 guy so he can be productive. Honestly could care less whether people like him or not, it is all about winning so if he helps at that...go for it. The main issue, besides his health, is his mammoth contract. As the OP noted, it is 18 million next year and almost 21 million the following so it would be ridiculous for Morey to trade young assets for a grizzled vet who wouldn't give you more then 25 minutes of good production.
