Perhaps its a cleverly disguised "bring back Mike James" thread?

I think I would kill myself if Rafer ever suited up as a Rocket again

as long as he doesnt shoot the ball. i had no problem with his game other than the fact that , most of the time, he would brick his shots and try that tear drop shot that rarely went in.

he takes care of the ball, he's a good defender, good passer, and knows how to run the team. heck, we're 0-4. what do we have to lose?

can't believe I'm saying this, but we could use Rafer's toughness and attitude on this team right now

Actually, Rafer was a decent team defender by the time he left. I still don't want him.

i wouldnt mind because, i remember tmac and Yao saying that he sets up the half court offensive the best. He always got Yao the ball the right way.

Neither Rafer, Lowry, or any small change to the roster is the answer. The Rockets are suffering from a combination of insufficient defensive talent and instability in the rotation. The former means we cannot be a championship contender simply because we can't get enough stops and the latter means we can't win close games because we aren't playing together as one in crunch time.

And just what makes this thread "useless?" While I'd rather get hit by a bus than bring back Rafer, he is available, he knows a lot of the schemes, and he's a better defender than the guys in the current starting backcourt. You want useless? Just scan the multitude of kneejerk crappy threads polluting the GARM.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't mind bringing back Rafer.. I was actually sad to see him go. You could tell he was one of the leaders defensively and it really showed when he left.

If you can bring back Francis, and MIke James, you sure as hell could at least give Rafer another shot. He's a true PG, something this team needs..

    I'm down.

No. What we need is a pg who can hit open shots and play defense. We don't need just a defensive pg and can't be truly relied on as a scoring threat. We have that in Lowry who is younger.
