I think you just contradicted your point about Pitino being a good coach. I didn't realize that Chris Mills, Chauncey Billups, Ron Mercer, Andrew DeClercq, Tyus Edney, Bruce Bowen, and Travis Knight played such integral roles in the post-Pitino playoff runs. What a great group of free agents he signed and players he drafted, huh? I believe you meant to say "despite the talent he assembled."
I did not contradict myself. I admitted that Pittino did not do a good coaching job in Boston. He did assemble the core talent of that team which is now a yearly play-off team. My point is that he did not leave the Celtics in as bad of shape as you make out. By the way Antwan Walker and Paul Peirce are both Pittino draft picks right?
No no NO... The pro game and college game are different on so many levels, the X's and O's, personnel, off-the-court issues, player development, handling ego's, the media, and many more distractions. It's not been working lately for college coaches to move to the NBA, and honestly as much as I love Coach Barnes, I don't think he would be a good fit on the Rockets or any other NBA team. Also, I highly doubt he wants to be anywhere other than UT right now. Oh yeah, and also I don't want him to leave damnit.
Uhh no, Pitino wasn't that great with the draft. Oh wow they got Toine from Kentucky. The only great pick they made was Pierce. I'm not bothering going into all the screw-ups but there were several.
