I love Silas. But he is better suited elsewhere than Houston. Milwaukee maybe, with their vets. Not Houston's developing hordes.
I think Silas is a good coach. I agree with JPM's "all he has ever done is won", and there is no question that letting him go was a move that Hornets management cant justify or even explain. However, from what I understand he is a players coach. That was a major knock on Rudy,wouldn't chew on the players when needed. Can anybody, who actually know, address this question. Usually when one makes a change, I like to see a change. On the other hand I really liked Rudy, so if Silas is a Rudy clone, that may noit be a bad thing.
You know Charlotte has had a pretty stacked roster for an EC team since the Mash trade and is yet to make the EC finals once, correct? Brown, Van Gundy or Pat Riley have all advanced much less talented teams deep in the playoffs. Silas seems a lot like Rudy, a players coach, this team needs a ballbreaker, or at least someone closer to one than a typical players coach.
