NO LUCAS FOR ROCKETS! HE NEEDS TO STICK TO HIS RECOVERY CLINIC
He was the one that told steve to go for the MVP last off season. He has never made a success of any team that he has coached.

If he came here there would be more SMALL BALL and even more ISO play than last season and Yao MING would never stand a chance of developing.

Definitive in what way? The title of this thread is a complete lie. PERIOD. How can you say its definitive when its based on a relationship that you 'think' exists? Not the steve and Lucas relationship, because it does, but the Les/Steve relationship that doesn't. Steve doesn't tell Les what to do and thats what you imply with this silly lie. Its cool to have an attention getting title, just don't lie to do it.

Lucas won't be next coach here. No way, no-how. Nope. Nope.

If Rudy couldn't reach Steve, I don't think John Lucas will.

    I second that motion.

Problems in San Antonio, problems in Philadelphia, problems acquiring Mad Max for the sixers.

Problems for the ROX? Please, no.

man532: are you trying to move your post numbers up by answering everyone? :D

Changed title of thread... added "RUMOR". Any other admin can do whatever else they want to this thread. :)

Thanks DoD - are we moving to the thread titles with "RUMOR" method mentioned in the board section? That seems especially appropriate now.

Not necessarily... that's up to Clutch. I just put something there to clarify this isn't a done deal or anything. Couldn't think of anything better.

It would be an even worse fit for the Rockets! Lucas had no system implemented in any of the teams he has coached.

The Rockets need a highly structured coach with a proved system.

this is exactly why john lucas would never work. part of the problem was that rudy coddled "franchise" and mobley. gave them free reign basically. lucas would only continue the downward spiral of letting the guards controll the team.

Clutch, how did he mislead people?? He just said Lucas COULD be the next coach...people read want they want to hear, I'm surprised you fell for it too.

On another note, John Lucas being the loser coach he is, never really had a lot of talent to work with. The players respect him and they'll play for him, we already have the talent, we just need the right person in there to lead them the right way. Look at Larry Smith, he was more disciplined and we lost all playoff hope.

I just would really hate to see weasel JVG hanging on to Yao's leg as he fights Ostertag in our next game with Utah!! Yuck, gives me the hippie jibbies to think of that!!

Before the thread title was changed, it stated "John Lucas will be the next head coach of the Rockets". Then DoD put "Rumor:" in front of it before it was changed to its current title.

Man has a history of saying he has inside information so it was a very misleading thread title.

    Ahhhh,

Yeah I've read some of his "misleads" before...didn't see the title of the thread before it was changed, but nonetheless why would anyone believe him?
