**** off. For the last 3 days all I've read here is about how we are going to win a Championship and how McGrady is a punk for saying the Lakers will. The board is bi-polar with a few realists.
..........no. The Blazers were fronting Yao, and it is difficult to give the ball to Yao when he is fronted due to his low speed and general lack of athleticism. Force-feeding Yao would resulted in a ton more turnovers, which would have obviously been a disaster. However, in fronting Yao, Portland generally leaves its paint open. We need to take advantage of that, yet Wafer and Lowry were really the only ones that could. When Adelman took them out (I can understand taking Wafer out as he might have been somewhat fatigued from playing extended minutes, but sending in Brooks was a mistake,) You do not give the ball to Yao when he is fronted - you take advantage of the fact that in fronting Yao, the Blazers virtually concede the paint, and so you take advantage of that.
Yep. You were right. We went and won one of the games by 27, and lost the other by 4 to a team who has only lost 7 times all year at home. Now we still have home advantage for the rest of the series. Wait... that's not what you said would happen?
that's absolutely correct.. that is NOT what i said would happen.. thank you for the incomprehensibly moot reply.. i said this team has an incredible propensity to defeat themselves and take themselves out of a contest.. the higher the pressure rises.. and the opposition doesn't fold.. which is pretty much.. precisely what happened game 2..
an objective realist.. my friend.. an astute one at that.. bravo.. we stole home court from the team we so proclaimed with such feverish optimism.. as our best post-season match-up possible....
you are not a realist. You are an eternal pessimistic troll who is yearning for a Rockets loss, just so you can come in here and parade your huge words and massive ego around as if any of us give a ʞɔnɟ. Well, good for you. The Rockets won and your lousy prediction came true, but my prediction came true first......so eat my ass.
so anything less than a sweep should be considered unsatisfactory? We left Portland 1-1, and we barely lost when they played their best.
Times like this call for Houston to stay calm and stay loose. I give you the VY dance. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Kr7fT3wDiAM&hl=ja&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Kr7fT3wDiAM&hl=ja&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
exemplary denial compounded with acute diarrhea of the mouth..... helpless seepage from the sewer you call a brain.. I suspect.. but insults aside.. way to maximize your rationale...
they missed nearly as many free throws as we did.. we had their entire front line minus Aldridge in foul trouble.. Oden was fouled out with 6+ minutes to go.. also.. i doubt we've faced the peak of their offensive output.. in game 2.. if you look at their averages.. and our defense was scatterbrained in several key moments of the game.. and we exceeded them in number of turnovers..
and just what exactly am I in denial about? I already told you I never thought this team was considered to be heavy favorites to win it all. So why not just sit back and enjoy the games instead of spreading fear and worry? I already know why you won't do that. Because it's more important for you to come in here and troll everyone with "I told you so".
Oden? yea.......and fouling him out was such a huge break for the Rockets...you know, because he exploded for 4 points. Of course you don't doubt that Portland hasn't hit it's peak. You have no faith at all that this team will win a single game, let alone a series. A series against a team that has beaten us twice out of 5 times, by a total of 7 points, and even you cannot say that Roy got off that desperation 3 in time at the begining of the season. and I doubt Roy goes for 42 and LMA hits 8 out of 10 again. Yea, they peaked.
once again.. your "observations" are incorrect.. and i've explained why i don't just "sit back and enjoy the games".. in this very thread.. a page or so back.. there's little joy to experience from a team that you know is built and balanced better than the opposition.. that they're finally comprised of players and depth.. that should've lifted them above the 3rd tier level of competition they've been mired in for the past several years.. by now.. only to see them continue to sustain a self-defeating trend.. if you can find pleasure in witnessing those same old results after all the apparent managerially endowed tangible progress.. and supposed in-team intangible progress.. then have at your content mediocrity.. i simply cannot.. for a team i cheer and root for.. and have for quite a while now.. it's too painfully pathetic to bear.. and turn a blind eye to and keep a hushed mouth about.. an issue made infinitely more irritating.. when the pollyannas come out of the wood work denouncing certain fans and objective truths of the team as trivial "hating".. while they merrily parade about such unknowledgable optimistic babble.. such as " woo! a blowout win, second round here we come! take that haters, too late to jump on the bandwagon!" to "we stole homecourt, things are going as planned! BELIEVE! those non-believers are poor excuses of fans! " followed by "so when we face the Lakers.." or "think we can beat the Lakers?" etc etc.. it just exacerbates matters to those that can clearly see the still flawed truth of this team..
Oden was certaintly posing a problem for the Rockets on the other end of the basket.. he was performing the way we all applaud Shane Battier of performing.. intangibly.. look to Yao's stats this game for the effect of his cause.. him along with the help collapsing defense.. and fronting.. posed quite a noticeable problem.. otherwise Rockets guards wouldn't have been so directly intent on driving into him to foul him out.. Of course you don't doubt that Portland hasn't hit it's peak. You have no faith at all that this team will win a single game, let alone a series. A series against a team that has beaten us twice out of 5 times, by a total of 7 points, and even you cannot say that Roy got off that desperation 3 in time at the begining of the season.[/QUOTE] as you can see.. the regular season is one thing.. the postseason another.. otherwise we would be sweeping them.. and you continue to miss the point.. it's not just the matter of Portland raising their game to greater heights.. it's the combination of Portland continue to demonstrate the fight they did this game.. while the Rockets continue to demonstrate their panicking to the pressure.. as they have with Utah.. as they have with the Lakers.. as they did against the Mavs.. and as they more recently have with the Blazers.. all this year.. a trend as i have repeatedly mentioned.. has been going strong for years now.. it's nothing new..
