well if you've bothered reading my threads.. i've been one of the few not AT ALL concerned with seedings or match-ups.. because the team's problems lie within themselves.. and it's so obvious to people willing to see them for what they are.. i thought they were finally leaning to ridding themselves of that old hedious trend of self-imposed defeat of theirs in these type of high pressure, high stakes games.. that i very reasonably conceived that the Hornets would manage no more than two wins against them.. yes.. on paper.. individual player per individual player.. the face value composition of this team.. they most certaintly can play with anyone.. i said in the game thread.. that it was especially frustrating.. knowing that no one team is clearly better than they are.. other than the Lakers.. only one team you could appropriately tag them as underdogs against.. i knew it.. for i've seen it many times before.. for several years..no times more magnified.. than those displayed in the postseason.. they defeat themselves.. they take themselves out of the contest.. i wish it were a simple matter of teams being better than they were.. that would be easier to address and be hopeful about.. but when they show they still have yet to manage to overcome that which so plagues them from within.. in games such as these.. it's a helpless "damn it to hell, here we freaking go AGAIN!"

The timberwolves made it to the western conferencel finals, and that's better than us. We are worse than the timberwolves with the perennial first round exits year after year. T
Thank you Sir I've actually been around since 99 myself but I lost my old username and had to start all over no biggie ! Some posters registered like last month and have like 5,000 posts already LOL
so you can have the board all by yourself? Oh, and you optimism freaks won't allow average fans air their frustration after a major disappointment even for one night? You can have your high horse back tomorrow.
Only the Rockets believed. The fans left them for dead. The key word in the first sentence is 'Rockets'. If this rockets team doesn't have the same belief, it doesn't matter what the fans think.
Told you. The return of Mary Poppins, just in time to make a completely unredeemable, completely wretched situation even worse. I am in no mood for cheerleading, nor is any died in the wool Rocket's fan. The team's performance tonight sinks, period. Epic failure, epic disappointment. Sis Boom Bah!
their record in these type of games.. is an increasingly poor one.. but all right.. have at it with your hope against all hope.. considering the type.. you'll probably be content with another good "solid 7 games, bravo Rockets, you gave it your best shot!" showing against the likes of Portland.. or latch on to their record against the west this season.. as hope for next year.. yes "there's always next year!"
As I said to Rox Addict, it's fine to vent... Just don't jump ship before the first tip-off of the playoffs! Some folks are just denouncing their fanhood almost... some long timeres on here when ape nuts and were cursing the team on here... That doesn't do anything to promote good mojo... or whatever you want to call it. Bite your tongue. I never doubted. That is no lie. Clutch City is about believing!
See... that's coming from YOUR keyboard. YOU harbor the negative quitter vibe in your own hypotheticals. Not I. YOU.
Iroc, I understand where you are coming from but you have to give people a chance to vent. This was a big letdown. DD
Tinman, the Ultimate Rockets Fan shtick is tedious. It doesn't matter what the thread is about, it's always about you. Dude, you act like you *played* on those teams when your just another guy with an internet connection. Do you wear a '99er ring, or something?
Wafer, Landry, and Scola cannot consistently create their own shots under pressure and convert on consecutive possessions. Brooks might be able to do it in a game or 2 against the Blazers (i hope), but right now he's been in a long slump getting badly outplayed by Lowry. Yao can take over in the 4th, unless he's fronted of course. All I'm saying is that this team still needs a player that can bring the ball upcourt, get isolated one-on-one, and convert - as many times as need be to put us up at the game buzzer. Even the superstar-less Pistons still had Chauncey Billups to do this. You cannot advance deep without at least one guy like this. If it's not gonna be Tmac, then Morey needs to find another.
when did the bandwagon take off? Our longest winning streak is 6, and until recently we had serious doubts. This isn't last year with the magical atmosphere.
Im not a quitter, im a realist. lol @ anyone watching that game tonight and being hyped for the playoffs. They got destroyed when the pressure came on. What do you think they will do in the playoffs? Plus they wont have homecourt.
if i could do a damn thing about it.. i'd be out there doing something about it.. since i can't..and neither can you.. it's really not a matter of quitting or not.. it's a matter of blind optimism versus facing the palpable failings and reality of this team.. if you mean quitting.. as in giving up watching the games.. and being a Rockets fan.. it's obvious i pose no threat in doing that.. if i was.. i wouldn't posting so much here after this loss.. i'd be somewhere else not giving a damn..
IROC it, I'm glad there's fans like you still here. I was in knee-jerk mode for about 10 min, then reading your post on the 94-95 team gave me hope. I'm really pumped now thanks to you. Go Rockets!
