I'm not so sure I want Davis. His career is on the decline. He's being paid max money the next 4 years for producing role player stats. From past experiences (Pippen, Rice, etc.) I think I'd have to pass on him. That is unless Toronto would be willing to take on Taylor, Cato and Rice in exchange for Davis.

Yeah but think about this. The last 2 years where Davis got older he actually played better ball when Vince sat out. He's a great defender and he's got leadership. Cato right now is a role player as well with our team built around Yao and Steve. As Yao gets better Cato will get even less PT. Besides, what the Rox need right now is not young and raw talent, we got plenty of that. We need veteran leadership and AD provides that. He's also a pretty good clutch player as he showed when Vince was injured, really stepping up his game. As of right now the Rox don't have a big time clutch player.

    The salaries do match up:

    AD: $12 mil
    Hakeem: $6 mil
    Mo Pete $2 mil

    Cato: $9 mil
    Rice: $9 mil
KT: $2 mil (or Boki, or a future lottery protected first rounder)

Antonio Davis is overpaid for what he does. Moreso than JYD, that's why AD has to go. Plus we have Lenard, Murray, Carter, and Jefferies, so Mo Pete is expendable. Lenard is back from injury. What we need is a real center, our centers suck: Huffman, McCoy, Montross, Mamadou, Foster...we have 5 scrub centers!!! We need a quality center like Cato. AD isn't as good as you guys think. He shoots a low % for a big man and he slows our offense down.

We wouldn't take Mo Taylor. His contract is long. We'd be willing to live with Cato's contract, which is smaller than AD's and the same length. Cato has time to improve, while AD will only become worse. I hope I'm not turning you guys off on this deal. It's not everyday I have to explain why a trade is NOT AS GOOD for the other team.

And if you throw in Nachbar or a first rounder, instead of Kenny, then it's like the Hakeem trade never happened!

I don't watch the likes of Jim Rome or any other show that's all BS. With that disclaimer, who the hell is JYD??? Juan Dixon? No? OK...I give up.

The Raptors would really weaken their team w/ that trade....Toronto would have to be smokin somethin to agree to that. I like it if u look at our perspective though.....:D but from there's it aint gonna happen so lets move on.......

Wow, you guys should take a look at that link gamer included. It's amazing how much the views of the two sides vary... Haha, both fans hate their own players.

Okay, if you really think we're getting shafted, then instead of Kenny Thomas, how about giving us Eddie Griffin? :D

Or a 1st round pick? or two?

btw, the only players that are generally well accepted by the Raptor fans are Alvin Williams, Jermaine Jackson, Vince Carter, Chris Jefferies, Michael Bradley, JYD, Murray, Lenard, and McCoy.

Our scrub list consists of everybody in this picture:

"Moochie: A fan favorite that (when he's not over dribbling) can be a very effective PG.

Cato: His numbers are up this year, while having to share the center duties with Ming. His attitude improved last year & he's continued with it this year. He'll dominate in the East.

Rice: While not as good as he used to be, he can still light it up & he brings a veteran savvy to the team. His contract expires after next year, which will drop $9 mill off of Toronto's salary cap. We'd be doing Toronto a huge favor by sending them Rice.

Taylor: Coming off a year long injury, he's struggled a bit this year, but we know that he's capable of scoring at will (once he shakes off the rust).

KT: He's the perfect 3/4 tweener. He's too quick for 4's to guard & too strong for 3's to guard. He plays with heart/desire & is driven to get better. His salary is cheap as well. "

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

Jesus Christ Hottodie, I WANT THOSE PLAYERS!

Seriously, how about we make it simple:

MoT was a player Toronto coveted when he was an FA. Toronto are lacking inside. Let's try this:

    MoT
    KT
    Cato
    Rice

    Antonio Davis
    Mo Pete
    (Hakeem's contract if necessary)

How's that for adding offense, defense, and depth?

    Here's your team:

    Cato/MoT
    MoT/KT
    Rice/Murray
    Vince/Hunter
    Alvin/No clue who's here

But you actually improve overall. MoT, KT, and Rice replace AD and Mo Pete's scoring very very easily. Cato and KT replace AD's toughness/defense. KT is playing against smaller competition in the East, so he'll be more effective. MoT is a proven scorer, and he has size and plays down low.

    Ming/Antonio Davis
    Antonio Davis/Griffin
    MoPete/T-Mo/Boki
    Mobley/Hawkins/Boki
    Francis/Mooch/Tito

i like that one. we get rid of mo t and glen rice in one fell swoop. im one of the rare k.t. lovers out there and id hate to see him go. i cant belive im saying this, but i really hope we dont trade cato either. true he is WAY overpaid, but i cant think of a better back-up center in the league. as a starter he is average at best, but backing up ming gives us the best center duo in the nba. i like cato over AD going up against some of the big w.c. centers.

IMO, we should keep our team together and give them a chance.

    They are winning...

They are deep at each position...

Gamer, sure we'll take AD off your hands if you think he really is that worthless. Remember though that Cato won't give you as much of an inside presence in the paint than AD for the next while.

As for the pic, I can understand how you want to get rid of Lenny Wilkens. The man did nothing for the Raptors. But I can't figure out why the hell you want to get rid of Glen Grunwald. Sure he is no god but he definitely made Toronto a much better team. And to stand before 20 K fans after the last home loss of a 18 win season when getting some 30 wins the season before and apologize to the fans, that's just amazing. He promised to make Toronto better and he did just that. I can think of any other GM past, present or future that would do that. Takes a lot of balls. I think he got robbed of GM of the year 2 years back.

Olajuwon's Career is over, and still... I would rather have Cato over the Dream, because the Dream...is now only a dream.
