I can help you move your table if you can hold the event at your house. Will you need to clear it with your wife before you can commit?
When I did an initial headcount, about 14 people chimed in, though only a couple emailed me. If we firm up a date, we might get more takers, especially if we take money in advance, as we will have to if we are going to have the tickets to give away after the tournament. The ticket prices are as follows: 12 game packages-$312 and $456 ($13 and $19 seats) 6 game packages-$156 and $228 ($13 and $19 seats) If we get 8, we buy the $156 package and everyone chips in $20 or so. If we get more people, we can think about better seats, and if we get a whole bunch of people, we go to a 12 game package and maybe a multi-day format (one day to get "in the money" and one day to see who wins). Find out what you can do about a location and once we firm up a time, we can announce a buy-in period. We could probably do the buy in as an auction on Ebay so that we can pay by credit card and get the funds and buy the season tickets in advance.
Andy add to this list but so far we have confirmed here... VooDooPope Andymoon Buck88 Redchocolate Not sure the exact location yet, I'm still working on my wife and trying to clean out the den to make it work.
I'm not going to have it cleaned out in time for a Saturday game. I'm going to ask my grandma if we can play in her dining room when I see her this afternoon. (she lives in Oak Forest just outside the loop) Anyone else have a better location?
Andy, I tried to send you an e-mail but it got sent back. Anyways, I was wondering if there was an update and let you know that if this thing still goes down I have another person who's interested. So I'm in for 2. Let me know when and if you find out anything.
Unless a location opens up by the weekend, we will not be playing. I may be able to host a game on the 13th, but our baby is likely to be born before the weekend of the 20th, which would leave that weekend (along with the rest of 2003 as well) out. If anyone has a good location for the 6th or 7th, we could play then, otherwise it will have to wait until the 13th or 14th.
I'd have no problem waiting until next weekend, plus we could put the date in stone and start to get things in order (buy-in, rules, players, etc.) BTW, on the ticket front. I wasn't sure if these tickets were singles or if we were buying two. If it's singles then we should strongly consider upping the buy to $40. I'm not one to go to a game by myself. But that's just me, and I'll go with the majority.
Sorry Guys, I've been trying to line up a place for the past couple days and just couldn't get it done. Anyone else have any suggestions on places to play?
