i like the battie idea mainly because of his versatility at the PF and C plus can hit the open J.

What ever happened to the deal of Pike to Cleveland for Kevin Ollie?

Big Z is considered the top 5 center in the league and you want him to come from the bench for 10 min a game? Do you know how much is his contract? A. Foyle (a scrub) just signed with Golden States for 8 mil a year for 5 years. NBA lacks quality center. It will never happen.

Getting Ilgauskas is a very much so interesting. He is always one of Yao's biggest headaches matchup wise and is quite formidable at the 5. If he and Yao split time at the 5 and every so often played together we might be able to have quite a defensive presence. They could average 5 blocks combined. Z also has quite a big contract and isn't doing anything Battie wouldn't do for them for less. Nachbar Howard Pike TE for Z Wagner McInnis. A little wierd and off the wall.

I've said this before, but I would love to get Battie here. He would be an ideal rotation man for us, esp if Ming still can't log big effective minutes.

I also like Eric Williams and Wags. Eric Williams we may be able to get with some of the exception mebbe. Wags we probly don't have much of a chance with, and even if we did, we don't really have a place for him on this team other than backup super-sub.

We have no shot with Boozer or Illy.

How much is Z making? like 14M? I bet Cavs are that obsessed with his contract.

We probably don't have a shot at Z, but it is NOT because Cavs won't let him go.

Battie and Eric Williams are players on that roster that I'd love to target. We could use Williams at the 3; Battie as an excellent 5/4 backup.

Does Cleveland want to part with either player? How likely is Williams to re-sign? How much can he get?

Could we split up the MLE and get both Rafer Alston and Eric Williams? Just a thought; I think they're both free agents.

exactly. Illy and yao cannot coexist on the court at the same time, and Illy makes way too much $$$ to play 15-20 minutes a game.

IMO, Battie looks attainable, but there is another possibility there. Desagana Diop has been making quiet but very definite strides. His problem is that he is a true center, not a F/C like Battie or Chris Mihm of Boston.

I would be very happy with either battie or skinner. What is skinner's status? FA? Or does he have an existing contract?

Uh, they are. This is his last year under contract. He's attractive enough as a huge expiring contract, let alone being an all-star true center.

And you think they'd trade one year, 14 mill of an All-Star center for a decent, borderline starter PF making about 9 mill a year for the next 3 years? Right.

They'll be willing to trade Z, but only if they're getting some sort of value in return- you don't just trade a 14 mill expiring contract that belongs to a center with basketball skills just for the sake of trading him.

thumbs- My guess is Diop is the heir apparent.

    jboslett- Skinner's a FA.

I didn't want to open a new thread, so I guess I'll post my idea here....

Chicago and New York are working on a S n T for Jamaal Crawford. Problem would be matching slaaries and BYC status.

Well you know what the cure for BYC status is? Trade exceptions. We happen to have one.

So how about we help these two teams, giving them our TE, and in exchange we get New York to swap either Howard or MoT with either Kurt Thomas or Mutombo (Expiring contract, good backup)?

Maybe we can somehow get Chicago t osend us Ben Gordon, who would be PHENOMENAL alongside T-Mac and Yao?

I think we shoudl get in on this deal, try and benefit from these teams.

Sounds great I would do the deal! We would still have all of the MLE and LLE..I don't think we would need it. That lineup is great.

Mcinnis..3 point shooting? He is a good point guard though.
