yeah but those players mentioned in my sig probably aren't available right now. You just have to wait till the deadline when owners have more pressure. I can see a player like Granger or CP3 wanting out after their respective teams are like the 10 or 11th seed with no chance of making the playoffs. Ride the pine and showcase Brooks. Hopefully some GM might notice, but right now, you won't get back true value for Brooks.
Ummm I'd rather say around 20/2/7. I don't know the exact stats but when we actually got a shooter in Martin to play off Brooks instead of Ariza, his assist numbers went up. He even said the main things he wanted to work on this offseason were defense and distributing. I also think having Yao instead of Chuck at center MIGHT, just MIGHT increase his assists, but I'm not so sure about that . He will for sure get his share of points... Yao is going to create tons of good looks for the rest of the team. The inside-out game will be great, which will lead to open looks and floor space for Yao to operate. If Lowry were there instead, the spacing would be much more difficult, leading to easier double teams on Yao. I just don't understand why you think the MIP of the league is going to put up worse numbers next year with a much better supporting staff.
Why can't people accept that a big trade isn't going to happen until Daryl sees what this current team (+an extra big man) does on the court for at least a tad bit. Aaron has only started 1 1/2 seasons and already shoots 40% from beyond the arc. I imagine those numbers are going to better with the addition of Yao drawing double teams in the paint leaving Mr. Brooks wide open from beyond the arc. If you still want to trade Brooks, his stock will surely be higher.
The package the OP suggests, though, is a little too much, but if Morey sees a way to get Granger by trading Brooks, I think he does it.
Mr. Barros never even came close to duplicating that season. That's definitely an interesting comparison.
Let's assume (big assumption) that Brooks can get the ball to Yao. Yao will most likely take a few dribbles to establish his rhythm. This will negate an assist. Honestly, Hayes probably would get more assists for Brooks than Yao would. As soon as Hayes catches the ball in his shooting range, he'll go up for the shot. Also, Brooks will put up worse numbers simply because he'll take fewer shots and will not be the focal point of the offense when Yao is on the floor.
I AM SICK AND TIRED OF BROOKS BEING UNDER RATED IN THIS FORUM ...SOMETIMES PPL DONT REALIZE WHAT THEY HV RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM AFTER IT GOES AWAY
It's a big mistake to trade Brooks now. All quality bigs are gone. We need Aaron,he will never be a pass first PG,but his scoring will still be valuable even if Yao makes a successful comeback. He should continue to start.
You know what? Brooks will be the focal point of the offense even with Yao on the floor. Yao will be moving on down the pecking order now, it is not his team anymore it is Aaron Brooks team. We are now building around him. DD
I would rather dump Hill or Patterson then let Brooks go. We have PF's out the @ss. Good pg's are few and far between.

In Brooks we have a guy who can be the best shooter on the court at times, a quick player who can drive it inside and make great lay-ups or dish it outside for a decent assist. However, he is also pathetic on defense, gets blown past by stronger and faster players, and has a capacity to lose his cool when fouls don't get called his way leading to turnovers that hurt the team during crucial points in the game. Yeah, sell him while the going is still good in this off-season.
HUGE investment? Since when was 5.8 million dollars HUGE? My God, the BBS is turning into an idiot's convention.
I think the OP gave up way too much in his trade scenario by offering Battier and Ariza but I think people are crazy if they wouldn't do a deal that was basically centered around Brooks and Ariza plus a pick and fillers for Granger and Ford. Granger is one of the best scorers in the league and is also an above average defender. How can you not want Yao to have two of the most efficient scorers in the league out there with him. I don't think we should trade Brooks just because his value is high right now but I don't see how you can pass up one of the best and most efficient scorers in the league that also plays defense and is a good rebounder.
LOL Brooks cracks me up, he don't even care how close or far he is from the line he just throws it up and it goes in. He's damn near half court on some of those. No way we trade him.
Hear hear ! I am glad they matched, another MLE contract on top of the pile of them on the Rox already. What the hey !! Good move by the Rox..... DD
You do know that Yao can not only score in the post, but from anywhere on the court inside the 3pt line. That's what makes him so good. So lets see: pick and pop = assist open Yao at free throw line extended = assist Yao rolling to basket = assist chuck hayes rolling to basket = assist but blocked half the time chuck hayes anywhere else on the court = no assists
No, not yet! The Rockets have a good chance at the #2 or 3 seed, which means that one of either Brooks, Martin or Scola will have a chance to make the All-Star team(through Coaches vote)... Which gives that player most likely Brooks more value! His value could get to the point where we could trade Brooks and filler(in order to match money), to get Chris Paul and have New Orleans think that they're getting equal value in return!! --RB
