Didint see this posted but, this PDF states that EarthQuest Adventures would be the second lartest theme park in the nation, behind only Disney World http://www.houstonarchitecture.info/haif/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=1150
I couldn't see the PDF, but DisneyWorld is actually 4 different theme parks (epcot, studios, magic kingdom, animal kingdom). I think Animal Kingdom is the largest in total area. Does it mean it's 2nd only to Animal Kingdom?
Well, the quote I posted is directly from the PDF. I'm not certain what there basing this on, the overall master plan or the theme park itself.
Exactly! I mean, look at what a disaster DisneyWorld has been. Those idiots even built on swamp land! HAHAHAHA! DUMMEEZ!
Another update professor... yesterday the Magic Kingdom was so full they were turning away everyone but resort guests...people staying in a hotel on a Disney property. I've NEVER heard of it being that full on a Wednesday in April. EDIT: apparently Studios were packed too...they had to start parking people visiting the Studios at Epcot and busing them over. EDIT AGAIN: it was even more crowded at MK than I said above...this was posted at wdwmagic yesterday afternoon: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=426433 The Magic Kingdom is closed to ALL guests - including resort and Annual Pass Holder guests. Phase 4 is the meaximum level of closing - something that hasnt happened in recent times incouding July 4 and New Years Eve).
What. I went the week before Christmas, one of their slow weeks and it was still packed. I would be so pissed if I was there right now. Lots of people with now jobs and DW is still packed, craziness.
Actually Christmas time is the busiest time of the year. Any time kids are off from school is busy. You couldn't pay me to go at Christmas time. I'd go early December though.
True. Best time to go though, honestly?? Roll the dice and go during the peak of hurricane season in September. Dead as a doornail. Also, if you do it this year I believe they're giving away a free dining plan. Of course, if a hurricane barrels toward Florida....
Thanks for that. I've been keeping tabs on wdwmagic this week too, unbelievable. I'll let everyone know what it's like if I survive Saturday. I really regret not going when we were considering it during the wine and food festival.
I'm guessing you saw this...but holy crap, it happened again yesterday. Magic Kingdom shut down gates entirely not letting anyone else in. Unbelievable...I can't remember the last time it was like that for so many consecutive days.
Some people are saying it may be too far for people to go, but I know a lot of people that go from Houston all the way to New Braunfels (about 30 minutes away from San Antonio) for Schlitterbahn. And, that's just for the Water Park, I can probably see way more people going to this one and it's closer than Schlitterbahn.
No update since February on the East Montgomery Chamber of Commerce site. Somebody made a post in the comments of an unofficial site saying that land clearing began but I haven't heard anything about any official groundbreaking. The guy behind this, or at least the face man, is an a-hole named Dino Don according to my sister who works at the Museum. He sued or was going to sue recently for a ridiculous amount. We're talking millions of dollars. I don't remember the particulars right now, I think it was about the Museum putting an installation in Times Square to showcase some of their collection, but he had something similar going on and maybe they had some kind of contract with no compete or something. The museum settled and paid the guy off for like $150K. She told me recently that it's because the Earth Quest park is having trouble getting off the ground that he's trying to scrounge up money anyway he can. This thing was supposed to be a $1.5 billion investment, so that is barely a drop in the bucket. I hope I've been more helpful than a one word answer that may be in the know or could just be a sarcastic joke, I can't tell.
