Eight good reasons to join the 2-time champion Houston Rockets.

    D. Morey- Best and most innovative GM in sports today.

    A. Brooks- MIP.

    K. Martin- Proven scorer, exceptional second or third option.

    S. Battier- Best perimeter defender in the league, great teammate, smartest
    player in the game.

    R. Adelman- Great coach, high tempo game plan, "players coach", has made the
playoffs 16 out of 19 years in his coaching career.

Y.Ming- Best center in the league.

    L. Scola- A true grinder, hardest working man in the game.

Supporting cast- C. Budinger, K. Lowry, T. Ariza.

Chris, the Rockets are your best chance to win a title now. You are the final piece of the puzzle, please come and help us put a end to the Fakers supremacy in the west. Come play for the hardest working team in the business.

As a franchise-type player searching for a home, the most important thing to consider is the franchise itself.

The outcome of your career is at stake here, don't trust it to any organization simply because of their location, media exposure, or a past regime's successes.

Know WHO you're signing a contract with, not just the name of the team.

If you're the type of player that a franchise can build around, consider who's doing the building.

Do you trust a guy who would run his organization into the ground for years behind a long-shot hope for redemption?

Do you trust a front office who has consistently had players with potential, but has yet to put them in a position to realize said potential?

Do you trust an organization who seems to always be in win-now mode when it comes to player acquisitions, yet doesn't actually win now?

Look at the front office of the Houston Rockets - one of the most forward-thinking in all of sports. One who has shown time and again its ability to easily obtain grade A role players.

If you're going to become the new face of a franchise, who surrounds you? Even if Lebron or whomever comes with you, who are the three other starters and who are the bench?

Come play with Yao, and let Daryl Morey do the rest.

    Dear Chris Bosh,

I believe you need to change your mind about free agent destinations you would like to go to. Houston should be on the top of the list for various reasons.

-Houston is a very large city and the fanbase is very supportive. As you can see on Clutchfans.net, there are tens of thousands of rowdy fans who would be ready to support you.

-In Texas taxes are lower than most other places, and way lower than Toronto. You wouldn't have to have half of your paycheck taken by the government.

-Because of Yao Ming, there are many fans of the Rockets in China. This would make great opportunities for more endorsements and more ways to make money.

-The greatest reason to come to Houston is because with you, our city would be favored to win a championship. Imagine a starting lineup of Aaron Brooks, Kevin Martin, Trevor Ariza, you, and Yao Ming.

There are many more reasons to come to Houston, but these are the greatest. We can't guarantee you free lifetime lap dances or free Hot dogs like the special treatment LeBron James is receiving, but we can guarantee you a great chance to win the championship. I hope this has helped change your mind to come to Houston, Chris, and with you here the city would be revitalized.

    PG: Brooks
    SG: Martin
    SF: Ariza/Battier
    PF: Chris Bosh
    C: Yao Ming

You have another big man in the post to take some of the pressure off you there. If you get double teamed you can easily kick it out to one of our great shooters (Martin or Brooks) and they will knock down the 3's. Or you can pass to a cutting Ariza for a strong finish at the rim. We are also known as having some of the most depth in the league.

    Dear Christopher Bosh,

Houston's nightlife is underrated and the diversity of women is great. They may be prudish compared to places like Miami but if you're a well known guy making good money (which you are), you'll see a side of these women most common men think impossible. While the women in Dallas may be fat and pudgy, the girls here are thick in all the right places and extremely healthy looking. You won't find that in New York or Chicago, where people are too busy to live a healthy, relaxed lifestyle.

Don't worry about getting touches - Adelman adjusts his system to what works. Look how Webber thrived under him despite having so much talent around him. And once you show people what we all know you're capable of, you will be embraced as a leader, a father figure, a champion of men in Houston Texas, home of the players and pimps.

    Love,

    Ronny and Friends

I want players that DESIRE to play in Houston, if he doesn't want to come here, it just doesn't make sense to me.

No, I mean he would be coming her for a max contract in a S&T but not that he WANTS to come here and play.

    Hey Chris,

I'm not going to state all the obvious bull crap about all the tax stuff, managers, players, legacy and how you would be a global brand over here. The money, the fame, the love of the fans, you'll get it wherever you go. The shoe deals, commercials and all that, you can have it in every city.

What we have here in Houston is something different. It's about the team. I'm not sure if you've ever felt this feeling, but when you look at this team you can see they have something special in them. That heart and passion that ESPN has been saying the Lakers have been lacking for the past years and truly divides legends from champions.
They have that heart, that emotion and those guts that just make you want to root for them and hope they'll succeed.

Even during the Hakeem Olajuwon era we've kind of always been viewed as the underdogs, the "Little Engine That Could".
When Yao went down last year in the playoffs we were projected to get swept by the Lakers, but we didn't.
At the beginning of the season we we're projected to win no more than 15 games by most NBA analysts, but we didn't. Instead, we finished with a winning record in the Western Conference. Diving for loose balls during a regular season game against the Knicks, losing teeth against the Mavs, getting an eyebrow arch teared or throwing a perfect alley-oop 3 seconds after receiving an elbow to the face. All these details, these elements are as important as making clutch FT's at the end of the game.
Not only do they matter for the teams success, but most importantly, they define who we are.

We're a team of winners, not only on the basketball court, but in the minds of the fans. Because at the end of the day, I know my Rockets have given 100% out there and would sacrifice anything for the love of the game.

And I know you would to.

    Sincerly,
    FredV

This is a great post. Only one problem, we have a injury prone center. The rockets didn't even make the list. Which is suprising, I know why it's because of Yao. Yao has been injured for five straight years. If you were a top free agent would you come here?

    honest answer?

    because we live here...

if Bosh doesn't want to come he won't come.

if he does want to come Houston is a great city (as are many other cities) with a great team (as other teams).

but unlike other places like Chicago or NY if he comes to Houston he can be The MAN (although he could just stay in Canada and be THE MAN)

everything Houston can offer another city can offer. being REAL for a moment, contrary to what DD posts the only true distinguishing element Houston can offer would have to be FINANCIAL, some sort of superior financial incentive via contract/Yao's connections to China etc that other teams cant offer.

else it's a case of "Houston is great. So are NY, Chicago, Miami, Toronto etc etc" it boils down to Bosh WANTS to come here

    I still dont buy that

a lot of players have WANTED to come here and play but not many have. McGrady forced a trade to Houston and forced himself out too.

I doubt Lowry wanted to come play for Houston when he was traded here, same with Shane.

But they came and played their butts off and the team did well.

I'm sure it'd be the same way with Bosh but after playing with the team and being a part of a class organization he'll change his tune as well.

I can understand him wanting to play with his friends in those other cities, but what can any of these teams give Toronto in a sign and trade? I dont think Toronto can go back to their fans and go "Hey we traded yet another star player and we got a 1st round pick (most like mid-late 1st round) back!" Even if its multiple 1st round picks how low will they be? Also the Raptors forced themselves into somewhat a "win now" mode after signing Hedo to that large contract. The managment can really sell rebuilding either. Toronto has a little over in 6 mil in capspace. They would get more back but capspace isn't going to help them on the floor.

If Bosh walks to one of the teams with space, more power to him. Actually it would be the first time in the modern CBA era I've seen a star leave a large amount of money on the table. I dont think his agent and his team around him will allow that. If he demands a sign a trade then Toronto should choose which team gives them the best package in return.

I would LOVE to see him walk away from that money.

    Great post...

Even though some of you have said Toronto doesn't have any power in this situation, I don't agree. Toronto doesn't have to work a SnT. As we all stated before, Houston has the best assets right now. I would of said Bynum but he can't stay healthy.

It's still too early to tell what's going to happen. I think we'll have a better idea come Draft night.

Bosh is still Young. This wouldn't be his last contract. One year less is probably better for him. Actually, DWill didn't sign a contract with the longest years. And, I think if Bosh really care about a little more money, he probably would choose a texas team since he would not need to pay state tax.

he is 26 and would be 31 if he signed a max contract with anyone but Toronto

I am not sure if anyone would want to sign him to another long term max deal after that. This is his chance to make the most $ for his career. He'll still get a deal after this contract but big men historically haven't been productive after they are 35 (compared to guards/small forwards) so either it will be a short term deal or a long term deal for less money.

Thats why his agent will stress the sign and trade, that 30 million he would be leaving very well could be the total of his contract after this one. Its similar to what happened with Artest. 5-6 years is a long time I fully expect Bosh to be a productive player even then, but not worth the max..

yeah I thought that too but its Clutch he has his ways.

Look in the rafters of Toyota Center.
    MOSES MALONE - 24
    HAKEEM OLAJUWON - 34

Look on the roster right now.
    YAO MING - 11

Houston knows how to treat big men.

EDIT: That's what she said. There.

EDIT 2: Anyone got a good shot of Toyota Center's rafters? I want to shop Yao and Bosh retired jerseys next to Moses' and Dream's.

I guess he could sign a 4+1 year contact. The last year would be a player option. In that case, he could get another max contract at age 30.

If you come to Houston, the Rockets will be better than the Lakers. Kevin Martin, and Aaron Brooks make up the best guard duo in the NBA. Chis, you won't have to worry about LeBron getting passed Trevor Ariza, and Shane Battier. Then there's always that seven-six center to help you out in the post who's working very hard every day to ensure he has a long-lived NBA career. It doesn't cost much to live in Houston, which is why many basketball players choose to live in this great city. We want you Chris Bosh!
