I don't like Bosh. But if Houston really need him. I‘ll try to love him.

EDIT: oh, whoops. This is too late, I take it.

    Dear Chris,

You are going to make the decision of your career this summer. This will sum it up and put the stamp on how you're remembered. Wherever you go, people aren't going to remember Toronto so much.

You want to be part of, not just a great organization (which the Rockets are now from top to bottom) but you want to "buy low" on the city and community you're joining. Houston, in the middle of global financial turbulence, is doing just about everything right, and it's just about the healthiest city in north america, in terms of both money and spirit. Check out this recent column in Forbes magazine (and they have basically nobody on their staff from Houston!)

    http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2010/0607/opinions-houston-immigration-job-growth-on-my-mind.html

You are a smart guy, and I think you'll appreciate that piece.

My wife and I are living and working happily in the San Francisco area, but given all the reasons cited in that article, and given that I grew up in Texas, we are seriously plotting a way to move back. The tax situation, the genuine hospitality mixed with how people can leave one another some space and peace, the amazing food and nice winters.... all drawing us there. But the main thing is the future.

You should really consider joining Houston, the team (perfect for you), the organization (perfect for you), and a city that's going to be reaching its peak right when you are reaching your peak, pairing with Yao, Brooks, and Martin to bring home the hardware.

Chris, a lot of your Houston detractors don't know much about basketball. That much, we can both be sure of. One other thing we can be sure of: even with a 25mpg Yao, adding you would certainly put us in the immediate hunt for the chip for at least the next 3 years if the core stays intact.

Come back home to Texas, Chris. Dallas is only an hour flight away. Houston's a great, world-class city with a very strong non-profit sector. Given your history of philanthropy in Dallas and Toronto, you would have an infinite number of opportunities to make a difference in the lives of young children here in one of the friendliest cities you will ever come across.

Won't go into the details about how you are perfect fit for our team, have a chance at a championship, etc. Enough has been said already. I'm preaching quality of life. No state income tax, low cost of living, world class arts, great restaurants and citizens who refuse to say "No can do." I know you're interested in returning to school to get your degree in management. Not sure if you're planning on returning to Ga Tech, but we have three wonderful schools here: The University of Houston, Rice and St. Thomas. I hope the Dallas-Houston "thing" isn't getting in the way. Just come visit and give us a chance.

    Dear Mister Bosh,

Tired of moral victories? Can't stand, "We are trying to build something here..."? Need a play maker on your team that gives better interviews than, "Ball"?

Come to where Red Bowties and bobble heads together make sense. Come to a place where almost making the playoffs is a step back. Come to a place where Shane Battier gives the post game interviews and you feel smarter just hearing him. Come to the house that Hakeem the Dream Built.

You wear you heart on your sleeve Mister Bosh. In Houston, we can make it the heart of a champion.

    Mr. Bosh,

Houston is a great cosmopolitan city that loves basketball. A few years ago, you launched your own internet campaign for the all-star team. If you come to Houston, you have the opportunity to be a big piece of a championship contender with constant national exposure and 5.7 million Houstonians voting for you to be an all-star every year. Plus, don't discount the billions of Chinese fans in China that follow the Rockets' every move and are eligible to vote for the NBA all-star team.

I think your skills would translate well into Coach Adelman's system; and just think of the nightmares you will give opposing coaches who would have to figure out how to defend both you and Yao Ming together!

We also have the best general manager in the league. So, you should expect to have great talent around you for the rest of your career.

Combine that with the financial advantages of living in a city with no city/state/county income taxes, and I think this is a winning proposal.

Has anyone made a shout out to our Chinese Yao and Rocket fans? The way they vote for All-stars, you would think they could really generate some hits and support on the Bosh website.

    Mr Bosh,

By now, you (and Wade and Lebron) have realized that it takes more than just one stellar player for a team to go deep in the playoffs. To be a championship contender, you NEED at least two great players surrounded by a solid core of veterans and role players. It's not about ego or whose team it is. Jordan needed Pippen, Shaq and Kobe needed each other, etc.

You should come to Houston because with this team, everything is already primed for a championship run. The only thing missing is you.
Because of the assets the team has, they can do a S&T (max $$$) for you and still have what it takes to be true contender. In essence, this is one of those rare scenarios in life where you don't have to compromise on any of the criteria that you regard as important in your life.

In fact, if you wanted to bring one of your friends (Wade or Lebron), the Rockets would still be able to accommodate everyone.

    Trade 1: J. Hill, S. Lull, J. Jeffries, D. Andersen, 2011 NY pick
    for You!

    Trade 2: K. Martin, T. Ariza, 2012 NY Pick
    for your friend Wade

    2011-2012 Houston Rockets

    Yao/Hayes
    Bosh/Scola
    Battier/Budinger
    Wade/Taylor
    Brooks/Lowry
    + MLE
    + #14 2010

To recap you can make the most $$$, be a global icon, have the team mentioned above, play in a great environment, and be perennial championship contenders year in/out. No other team can offer you these terms. So,tell me Mr. Bosh... why not?

Didn't know where else to post this but, I saw Chris Bosh today in Westwood Village, CA. He was at the premiere of the Karate Kid movie and I saw him heading toward the after party, I didn't get up close to talk to him or get any pictures but I thought it maybe a sign for me. Anyways I hope Chris gives the rockets and their great organization a great deal of consideration we he thinks about what team to play for!!!!

Houston owns the Phrase "Heart of a Champion." That's clearly what you would get out of the Rockets. These players come and play with their hearts every single game. I mean what other teams have a winning season with a 6"6 center. These guys hustle and fight for every possession on the court. Why wouldn't you want to be surrounded by an atmosphere of players that want to WIN and are just as hungry as you are for a championship with a coach that can take are team there. We are a Chris Bosh away from dominating the Western Conference. The facts are HERE Bosh. Who can stop you and Yao in the post with a backcourt of AB and Kevin Martin. So Sick!

I want Bosh in Houston, not because of his basketball skills, but because of his awesome acting skills in the 'Vote me into the 2008 All-Stars' commercial.

    "Ain't that right Bubba?

    That's right."
