This thread is soooo Funny. I can't wait to post at this website, ten to 15 years from now saying man, I remember Steve Austin, and the Rock, Degeneration X, Triple H, NWO, and all that fun stuff. I vaguely remember any of this. Back in the mid-late 90s when I watched wrestling, my dad would always tell me that he used to go to the Sam and watch wrestling. He took everybody, except for me and my sister or so because I was what, 2, 3, years old. It wasn't a dust, it was a "blinding mist." Basically, some colored water. He was featured on ESPN classic on that show that I can't remember right now. I think he was the first wrestler to use the mist. Current wrestlers that use the Mist now is the Great Muta, and Tajiri. I think they have three colors. Green Blinding mist. Red Burning mist. and I think it's yellow, you get knocked and unconcious mist.
I remember Booker T as GI Bro, and Stevie Ray as Super collie something, but I read it as Super Collider on that website. I swear I remember watching it on channel 20, and the promotion was called Sam Houston Wrestling or something like that.
Big fan of (mexican legend) Mil Mascre, Mr. Wrestling II ,& Junkyard dog aka JYD I heard JYD was killed in auto accident somewhere in Louisiana.
Those of you that mentioned The Rock must remember his dad, Rocky Johnson. Rock's grand father also wrestled, but I can't remember his name.
About 1963-64 my Dad took my brother and me and one of his friends to a live wrestling event at the Coliseum. That afternoon, I guess, they were featuring Lady Wrestlers. We went up and hovered around the ring during the warm-up. I guess I got too close because one of the Lady Wrestlers kicked at me in this grand theatrical gesture. It sure impressed me though as I headed back to my seat. We enjoyed many spirited discussions with my dad over the next couple of years as to whether or not wrestling was real.
ME!! Anybody other than me remember Kiterik? Wrrrrowr! Q: What's your favorite food? A: Pisketti Dem's wuz duh dayz!
Peter Maivia aka "High Chief Maivia". Rocky Johnson was my mom's favorite wrestler when I was a kid, but she hated wrestling, so either that's saying nothing or a lot.
He was killed in an auto accident, but I'm not sure where. It happened something like 3-5 years ago I think.
