I'd love to see a huge recycling effort launched, so that we can save space in the landfills to pile up the bodies of the environmentalist lunatic fringe. Seriously -- this is Houston -- land is abundant. We've got plenty of space for landfills for the trash to go into.
Sadly, conservation without population control is a losing battle. I support programs that would curb the population, just like I support conservation programs - including recycling. Frankly, supporting one without the other is ineffective. And weslinder... come on, that's an absurdly ridiculous show to quote or rely on. Might as well ask Michael Moore for objective commentary on George Bush.
This article, of course, will not help any. Politicians can't help the issue because Houstonians don't want to be told what to do. And, Houstonians can't do it on their own either, because they really need a corporate or government entity to coordinate the process and make it efficient.
how much oil do you burn recycling more plastic? Need to clean then reform. If it really saved oil companies would be doing it themselves, paying people for plastic.
btw, the paper industry is getting murdered by the internet. alot less magazines and newspapers being printed with people being able to read online.
