What's with the fascination that the Rockets org has with 3 superstars? What team has 3 legit superstars right now? I know the super friends did when they first formed, but last year Wade was breaking down fast and it's debatable to call him a superstar.

LOL what? He was an all-nba player. That's a top 15 player for the previous season, selected by the people that actually know something about basketball. He didn't get onto a team that was suppose to "star" Kobe "I played six games this year" Bryant and Jeremy Lin. So what? Players general public and media perception has sometimes little to do with his actual quality. And Dragic most definitely became a star the previous season.

    All-NBA >>>>> All-star

Chandler's not a star; he's got a 15.9 PER which is barely above league avg. Ariza had a 15.8 PER by comparison.

Is the OP Chandler Parsons? Goodness, talk about overrating our own players.

the problem for dragic is the all star game only has 5 spots for guards, and the 5 that made it were the 5 guys who were ahead of him in the all nba standings. He'd be the best guard in the east whilst also not being good enough for the western team...

He's lucky as a top 20 role player in the NBA. Seriously. He's a good player and I'm not bashing him but Ariza is a better overall player.

Seriously Parsons offense has improved year to year but his defense has gone from being a guy who was respected and shutting down Kobe to a guy who runs around picks and does nothing too contest Lillard wide open 3's when everyone knows Lillard is taking the shot

The funny thing about that was Bev was the one guarding Lillard and it was CP who asked for a switch.

If you are DM, you are being paid to build a contending team, but you also have a responsibility to make tough calls to mitigate risk. Parsons believes he's on the up and is a budding star, and the Mavs apparently think so too. The Rockets don't. Most NBA pundits don't. Most of the fans here don't.

He might prove us all wrong, and bully for him if he does, but it was a reasonable call for DM to make not to mortgage our flexibility on the bet that Parsons is going to continue to improve to the top tier of the association.

What kind of loyalty is that to Harden and Howard if a guy who contributes less than them is getting that kind of money? Let alone we grabbed a guy who shoots a better clip of 3's than him and a better defender. You can argue ceiling and whatnot, but I'd rather take history and gamble a year of Howard's prime. Ariza has chip experience and will be in a better role than when he was first here.

If he was truely our 3rd star he wouldn't be getting outplayed by batum in the playoffs.

    He's a 1st tier role player.

This x 1,000! Morey gave Parsons a gift! Parsons should have given us a discount. I bet we would have given him a 4-5 year 11-12 mill a year contract. This was not Morey's fault, it was Parsons for not appreciating being let out of his deal. Not cool Parsons.
