Wemby and the Spurs may need a couple of years to contend. Mavs are one Kyrie mishap away from Luka asking for a trade.

Use our assets to surround Amen/Sengun with 2-3 stars this summer (eg Mitchell, Ingram, Bridges, Lauri) and we are good to go.

    Wemby is Ralph Sampson 2.0

Show me someone with his size who didn't get hurt a bunch... Kareem?

    That might be it...

Call .e skeptical of the cavs. Trae Young made it to a conference finals before luka. How did that work out?

We let all our actual stars walk, from Capela to CP3 to Harden, decided to go with a bunch of kids in training for 3 or 4 years, then added VanVleet and Brooks, and now we are back to needing bigger stars again.

Kyrie just needed a Lebronesque figure and he found that in Luka.......I mean if he mucked it up, he would still search for another Lebron or Luka.

That is a proven formula for him.....and Kyrie has also some crazily insane Elimination record where he never lost or almost never lost.

Lol Wemby is more like Bill Russell and Shawn Bradley and with guard skills.

The injury likelihood, it might happen but it can also be like Embiid where he had to sit out but can also play 9 seasons.

I am ashamed that a fan of Houston Texas would bother with that thread title.

    Genuinely disappointed.

    Disgust.

This is the NBA. Remember after last season we thought the Nuggets were gonna be a dynasty?

You go out and compete and home injuries don’t destroy your shot like it did in 2018.

Sampson had "guard skills" too. The history of players at his height or above does not bode well for Wemby's career longevity.

Did you see the negotiations for Brook Lopez during free agency?

Stone traded TyTy, Garuba. Josh Christopher to make room for Brook Lopez......and then Brook said, no thank you.

    --------------------

    Negotiations can be made

    Jeff Green $9M (team option)
    Tate $7.1M (team option)
    Jock Landale $8M (non guaranteed)
    *depending on dates

Steven Adams $12M can be traded for ham sandwich once season ends and team
    salaries are adjusted

Dillon Brooks $22.3M can be traded for a ham sandwich

    Projected luxury tax $172 million

getting around cap holds- the salary could drop near 110.6M
(Holiday, Boban, Bullock in total is probably less than $6M)

If I'm the Clippers, I would want #3 for that future Center (Sarr, Edey, Clingan....move back
for Kel'el Ware), Tate, Brooks, VanVleet, Jeff Green, Landale.....
    maybe they love Steven Adams?

Cavs will want a Harden deal for Donovan Mitchell.....Jalen Green, Tari?, Jabari?, Cam?, Sengun?
plus 4 first round picks.....and pick swaps

Offloading Adams and Dillon for ham sandwiches will cost picks. Pick you would need for the SnT. I just don’t think that’s a realistic scenario.

I like PG as a basketball player better than Mitchell, too, but I wouldn’t be willing to spend a lot of capital on a 34 year old player.

You are probably right, but the Clippers are in a pickle where they probably prefer re-signing Harden but that will put them near $218M....and for what? Be bounced in the first round again.?

SnT with Houston would actually help them reduce payroll (Tate, Jeff Green, Landale)

Plus Zubac leaves after season as they can't afford to pay him more than his $12M

They could get that Center on a rookie deal......much like Utah got Kessler.

That’s the other thing, I don’t follow the Clippers too much, but if I were them, I would prioritize PG over Harden. I think Harden is the more replaceable player, though he’s the most durable of the their Big 3. With Harden being an actual free agent, I could see them letting him walk and then trying to work out a SnT with whichever team he decides to sign with.

The Fertitta family. When the owner is a star, everything else will fall into place.
