try him out next offseason, we'll see then, end of story... he's still TRYING to get back, maybe he'll need more time, maybe he'll never make it back... kid's lucky to be alive...
Us and Miami might be good places for him, because he doesnt need to do too much. He definitely cant penetrate as he used to be able to. He should be hooking up Stockton right now.
incorrect because even back then crawford was a young player who was integral to the foundation of the bulls. so the fact that he lost his job to crawford does not mean he had any major problems. matter of fact the bulls expected very big things out of jwill in his second year before the accident and he would have shared the backcourt with crawford.
One thing about Jay Williams is he got just a little too much love. Maybe he's an only child. He certainly acted like he was all that, a bag of chips and an ice-cold Coca Cola. I think he was mouthing off in the locker room at the NCAA tournament, looking ahead to the next opponent (or was that another Dukie?) before even playing against Indiana....and the Hoosier coach was right there to overhear. Then everyone treats him like he deserves to be the #1 pick of the draft. (Hindsight: Yao or Amare should have been #1, maybe Caron Butler #3, etc, and Jay Williams.....who knows.) He came into the league and found out that it was actually gonna be work. An unfortunate, humbling experience for him. If he somehow shows flashes of the player that he should have been, then we'll give him a try. The arrogance will have been wiped out by that car accident and by his experience as a rookie. Will he have overcome severe tendon and nerve damage? I wish him the best, as long as he doesn't come back and play great for a division rival.
Whoa. People are probably confused after this thread..but there are two people who post on this name. Just a FYI..
why does this get the infamous rolleyes fugwu? If Houston is showing interest after the James pickup (yes I know it's a presumption and some articles take blips from print months ago) it would go to show that VG still thinks we need to tinker with our point guard play. Given that Sura has played his ass off and is unquestionably a good fit, that would leave one to look at James. I'm sorry I'm not on James jock. To me he has yet to sucessfully run this offense. While I like his ability to score and give us pop off the bench, his decision making is mediocre at best. There is a reason he has bounced around the league for so long. While it is true in retrospect that the article is probably talking about the rockets interest from before the season, the first time I read it I didn't take it that way. I also wouldn't be suprised if during the offseason, we packaged James and an expiring contract for another player. But of course, Fugwu, I'm nowhere near as intelligent and observant as you. My opinion is worth no more than a rolleyes. A freeposting space wasting rolleyes. The nba. it's fantastic.
Some of you people are reading a little too into all of this. It comes down the simple fact that if you have a chance to add a player with superstar potential that is willing to play for cheap, you jump on it regardless of whether you "need" him or not. Let's pretend for a minute Andrew Bogut was a free agent that for whatever reason teams were overlooking. You don't say "the hell with" the guy just because we already have a superstar center and probably the best backup in the league. If the talent is there, you take it. This is the same thing as in the draft when you take the best player available. Having too much talent is never a bad thing.
broken pelvis, broken bones, torn ligaments.....walking and shooting 3s is one thing, going up against top nba pgs is another......before he was injured he wasnt all that, if anything, he was a dissapointment in the league. In fact, before williams was inured, the bulls drafted hinrich....after the draft is when williams got hurt. So that shows u how highly the bulls thought of williams by drafting another pg. He'll probably come back like bobby hurley did and produce the same type #s at best.
Houston has always attracted FA's. Mo Taylor came aboard, Shandon Anderson decided to jump ship to Houston, Mobley decided to stay put instead of going to Toronto, Pippen/Barkley/T-Mac, etc. etc.
Mo Taylor? Shandon Anderson? OK, let me rephrase. Back to a status (you know, like, back to when we had this guy named Hakeem Olajuwon) when FA's worth a bucket of spit think highly enough of us to come here. Oh, and in case you missed the news, Barkley and T-Mac weren't FA's.
I know they weren't free agents per say, but they WANTED to don the Rocket uniform. And Mo Taylor was a highly touted FA back then. People were calling him the poor man's Tim Duncan. Anderson was being actively persued by other teams as well. Now of course, they didn't totally live up to their expectations, but regardless, Houston has never been a place where players SHUNNED come FA time. Remember when Webber was a FA? Now, it could have been a ploy on his or his agent's part, but he mentioned Houston as a destination he could see himself in. We were in the running for Derek Fisher, and Brent Barry as well, but decided to take a different approach. (2 for the price of 1 in Ward & Sura) You act as if FA's overlook Houston as a destination spot or something. With T-Mac and Yao aboard, trust me, players will be chomping at the bit to be on the team.
Worth the risk...He knows wherever he goes, he won't get a great dael of money, maybe not even close to what he got as being the #2 overall pick, but the guy had talent....There aren't many people thinking that he could do much, so if he doesn't produce, it won't be that big of a deal...
Mike James has been with the team for what? 2 months? And there's already trade talk? CD has salvaited over this guy for so long, there's no way they will trade him easily.
