A BCS bowl has always been just a pipe dream, even if they did go undefeated. What matters is conference championship, Capital One Bowl berth and victory. Just gotta keep telling myself that.
update for those not watching the game: Now 34-7 La Tech not sure Case still has a shot at the Heisman =(
On the road is where the pain comes from. Those nasty loses to UTEP and Rice over the years have come on the road. Why Rice? Its 2 miles down the road but UH has lost the last 2 games played at rice. This is our 2009 UTEP game.
Sounds crazy, but they can still score if they get a good run back. but its a touch back. just throw screens to your backs, i'll be down with that. let them break it for long ones. yeah, I guess you can play for your conference championship, but at least you can say, hey look at us, no losses, put us in a bowl game. They would probably get slaughtered kinda like the other UH did in a BCS game.
50 yard touchdown. comeback starts now. hopefully. three possession game. let's play some D, and UH is easily back in this game.
And this is the pathetic truth that has been obvious for several seasons now. It is on the coaches to address the defense, and they have not done it. Every time the Coogs flirt with legitimacy they have a brain fart like tonight and ruin their season. There is no excuse for being blown out by La Tech, I mean, really!
I had some trouble finding Rice and Texas. when UH plays a bigger team, it will get ratings like the game in the middle of the night vs Tech. Numbers were just as big as other local schools. I saw the other thread. Same old circle jerking in that thread, no thanks. more interest vs aq schools, yada yada, same ****, yada yada. gonna go rob liquor stores and gas stations now. the end.
Kevin Sumlin wasn't given the head coach job for his defensive knowledge. Much like his Texans counterpart, he is an offense guru. Too bad Wade Phillips isn't available for the Coogs.
In a (somewhat) related note, La Tech needs new uniforms in the worst way. Not only have they been wearing those same unis since the Luke McCown days, but it looks like they have been using literally those same exact uniforms since that time. The numbers are all wrinkled like they've been washed one too many times.
There's an old saying. You can coach offense, but you have to recruit defense. That's why you see so many non-AQ schools with these crazy prolific offenses yet they can't stop anybody.
What a fail week by UH if the score holds. I anticipate them getting the ball back, scoring a TD but then being unable to stop LA Tech from running down the clock.
