If we lose a game we're going to the Liberty Bowl, no if ands or buts.

Isn't one team in the Liberty Bowl the CUSA Champs? If UH goes undefeated but doesn't get a BCS invite, do they have to accept a Liberty Bowl invite or could they go to another bowl. Would they even be offered another bowl?

If we don't get a BCS invite and we win C-USA we go to the Liberty Bowl

They will go to the Liberty Bowl if they don't make a BCS game. All the top non-BCS bowls like the Cotton Bowl, Holiday Bowl have conference matchups. Cotton Bowl will be Big 12 vs. SEC, etc.

So the max the Coogs can get in a C-USA bowl is 2mil in the Liberty Bowl. But 18mil for a BCS Bowl. 16mil difference by losing 1 game. Thats amazing.

Yeah, but its a totally fair and equitable system, amirite?

BCS teams end up getting screwed out of legitimate national title games/shots, and smaller schools get boned out of tons of money.... everybody loses, hooray!

I think its stupid to have a specific conference that can go to this bowl or that bowl. I think they should just have the two best teams for each bowl game. I mean i would love to see UH in a bcs but if they loose they should still have the chance to play at another bowl game other then liberty, like cotton or outback I never liked how only specific conferences go to those bowls.

Hell yea. Thats just a stupid rule. The Coogs are legit and if they lost 1 game and the best they can do is the Liberty Bowl at 2 mil and not have a chance at a Cotton or Gator Bowl is just nutz.

Any old timers want to drop a little knowledge on us about how the bowl system used to operate?

Have their always been conference tie-ins? was it open bid? was it a time staggered thing?

Not having the Cotton Bowl be a top 5 bowl is just a load of BS...

It was always a conference tie in to some extent.

When the Southwest Conference was in existence, the conference champ ALWAYS went to the Cotton Bowl. The Big 8 champ went to the Orange Bowl.

There were no BCS bowls. The national champion was determined based solely on the AP poll following the bowl games.

The only thing that could be better than this would be a Texans v. Cowboys Superbowl or a pill that cures cancer.

UT beat UTEP 64-7 and it could've been a lot worse if UT's head coach was Bob Stoops. Starters got plenty of rest.

I was shocked when I saw the line was only UH -15. Seems like easy money to me.

Yup, go to chanelsurfing.net, and then it makes you download Microsoft Silverlight.
