Guys, I know Morey is a god and he's never disapointed us, but you can't expect him to make big moves every single offseason and tradeline. I think morey has spoiled some of you guys, I still think he'll make some significant moves but don't overreact if he doesnt.
or it could mean that the rockets wont do jack **** until the trade deadline next season. but (mid season upgrade)
Morey knows what he is doing, and if so not acquiring any players right now, then I would say he is doing the best for the team.
Yeah. this offseason has so much hype that people forget the seasons most of these guys had. Why is drew gooden still in this league?
There have been a number of players pass by, that we didn't come close to getting. We have chips, but we can only spend each chip once. I think DM is waiting for just the right opportunity. If you remember in February, DM came damn close to getting nothing done, or only getting the Sacramento part of the Big Deal done. Meaning, he's not biting until a good deal comes along, and he really isn't into reaching. It's frustrating to wait, though.
What we need in the CBA is the ability to trade some of the impatient, rude, and kneejerk posters on Clutchfans to other teams forums...
We're probably going to have to wait for this next big move, because it is likely to be the last colossal move Morey can make for a while, as far as moving major salary and acquiring a superstar. 1. Morey is waiting to see what develops with Lowry and Scola. 2. Then if nothing has unfolded regarding possible upgrades through S&T deals for one or both of them, Morey is going to wait to see what happens to Chris Paul. 3. If nothing materializes at the deadline for Paul, Morey is going to look for another move at that time. Morey is trying to acquire a superstar difference maker to add to Yao/Martin and the rest of the leftovers after he trades for the superstar.
I would expect that we are looking at the trade deadline to make any moves. In the summer you can generally get ripped off. Morey's wish list probably looks something like this: 1. Chris Paul 2. Carmelo Anthony 3. Danny Grainger 4. (Maybe)Andre Igoudala 5. (Maybe)Tony Parker The Rockets are more than likely looking at filling a couple holes (Vet Center and 3rd string pg) and seeing how the first half of the season goes. The teams that are currently holding the top players listed are not going to look to deal any of these players if they are a playoff caliber team. When teams are at the trade deadline and are not going to be in contention, it is the best time to maximize value for both teams involved in the trade, and the picks and prospects that the Rockets hold will seem alot more attractive to a team looking to rebuild. Also, The Rockets will not deal for a player that will not agree at least verbally to signing long term to the Rockets. That was one of the reasons they did not pull the trigor on the Amare deal last trade deadline. The most likely player to be available come February that the Rockets would play for will be Danny Grainger. Rockets fans should hope that Paul George is good enough to make Grainger expendible. The fact that Melo and CP3 have been openly discussing joining forces in NY might send a red flag to dealing too heavily in a deal for them.
