Somehow that makes this even more depressing. In essence, this thread was started 9 years ago talking about how painful it was to be a Houston sports fan. Now, 9 years later, we're STILL talking about how painful it is to be a Houston sports fan. Talk about your gut punches.....ugh.
Now that I think about it maybe it's just me. I grew up in Houston and now live in a city that outside of College Hockey and WNBA has only won two championships in the last 40 years both by the same team in a very short span, has also had several brushes with greatness in the last 20 years only to come up short. I also went to a Pac-12 school that hasn't been to the Rose Bowl since 1959 and the best they have done in basketball since the 50's is the sweet 16. I did live in Boston for one year but it was a few years before the Brady Belichick Patriots era and the Cowboy Up Red Sox.
I tweeted the other day "Being a sports fan in Houston is like getting your favorite toy for Christmas, then watching your brother smash it into oblivion"
please stop. this is not Chicago or pre-2004 Boston. we wear big-boy underwears around here and we don't need to lean on stupid BS like "curse" to explain when our ****ty teams play like ****.
Either that or getting your favorite toy for christmas, but when you open the box it has been broken or been replaced by something worse.
who cares longhorn youre allegiances belong to the cardinals now so... 11 time world series champs WHOOOOOO
