And how in the world would you know this?

Like Kam said, who gives a flying F*** what the percentages are. The fact that people actually kept bringing it up was ridiculous. Talk about getting your panties in a bunch.

Obviously, I don't know. I would have hoped you could realize that. But I stick by my statement. You say you have known many strippers. Several others in the thread say they have known many strippers. I'm betting the sum of all of them together is more than the number that you know. By the way, you've gotten your panties in a bunch over this just as much as anyone in this thread.

I've got to leave this alone eventually because if you can't see our point, then its really not worth it to carry on like this.

Once again, none of us ever denied that prostitution and drug use are a part of that industry. You simply upset some of us by painting these women with one great big brush. And then you try to make amends by saying "98% of them" instead of "all of them." How generous of you. Whatever.

There are only a few of us defending them for a couple of reasons:
    1. We personally know or have known more strippers on a personal level than the average guy, i.e. we know or have known them as people.
    -and-
    2. The profession is one that is easily demonized, and as a result, you won't find too many people who will stick up for them.

Your accusations are not quite the same as racism, but it is certainly along the same lines: You are demonizing a particular group of people without, in my opinion, sufficient knowledge or evidence to back up your claim(s).

    Its like this:
A lot of the poorer neighborhoods are populated mostly by minorities. Unsavory activities tend to be prevailant in the poorer communities, which are populated mostly by minorities. Does that automatically mean that a minority group from a bad neighborhood is involved in said unsavory activities? Of course not. It simply isn't right to paint everyone there with one brush, or even your oh-so-generous reduction to 98%.

Its the same way with strip clubs. Some clubs are more well-known than others for the things of which you speak, but it is neither morally right nor accurate to present your accusations as fact, and I've got the personal experience and knowledge to back it up. One particular club may be 100% just the way you apparently believe that it is, but the next club could just as easily be 100% the opposite. And its a big stretch to go 100% either way.

    And now, FattyFat --
Man, been there, done that. Like I've been saying, yes, 99% of them do have issues, just like 99% of everybody else. Some have serious issues, some have none at all. I've seen it all, done it all, and can't remember most of it. I've been around the block; I've slept with strippers and I've dated strippers....more than the average guy who has dated strippers, but maybe not as much as you. Hell, I even DJ'd a titty-bar when I was in college. My point is that I know from where you speak, but I also know from where I speak. It is from there that I've been trying to make Rezdawg not be so bigoted to a particular profession. Yes, drugs and prostitution exist. Yes, strippers have issues, and just like the rest of us, they have the full range of small issues to huge issues to security-hazard issues. I understand both of you. I've carried this on because Rezdawg obviously does not understand my point, Pimp's point, or Batman's point that drugs, prostitution, and 'issues' exist both in and out of strip clubs. Yes, those things are more prevailant in certain professions or locales, but the point remains that to paint everyone with the same brush, whether it is minorities in a poor community or strippers in a strip club is just wrong, both morally and factually.

Dude, you are totally getting me wrong here. Im well aware of the fact that drugs exist in every profession. Hell, I would be willing to bet that more resident doctors do speed or some other drug than most other professions. Im also not denying the fact that people other than strippers have issues. I would bet that ALL people have issues of some sort. When I made those comments about strippers, I wasnt only putting them on the spot. If this thread was about another profession, I could have very well said the same things. This topic is predominantly about strippers, thus I made the comment about strippers. Yes, there are some relatively good ones in the bunch. But, I would say that most have done at least mar1juana at one time or another. Is that really that bad? I dont think so. Many, many, many people have done mar1juana. You may take offense to that. I personally dont think that its a horrible act. That is where we are differing. You are taking offense to what Im saying. But, at the same time, the things that I am saying, I dont find that bad. Im not saying it to put them down or hurt their image. I went to a pretty good school as far as academics are concerned and I saw enough nose candy to last me a lifetime. If computer scientists, rocket scientists, future doctors/lawyers are doing it, then pretty much every person is capable of doing it. Dont take my comments as a slap in the face of strippers because that is not the way I perceive it. You guys may see it that way, but thats only because you dont know me and where Im coming from.

Dammit! This is like the 100th time somebody refers to me as Kam. And probably many more have just made that mistake in thought. I have found my new sig. :)

Back to the subject. Is Treasures really that cool? We're going to have another guys night out soon, and none of us have been to Treasures. We went to St. James once (I thought it was okay, not great, but pretty good). How do they compare?
