Watt is a god. Was this an overall grade on the season? He posted 4.5 vs TENN. Maybe fumbles are hurting him. And where does Murray rank? He has 5 fumbles and a bunch of yards before contact. Maybe.... is it factored that he guards teams' #2 WRs, not #1's.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Jurrell Casey considered a darn good defensive lineman...? If so, and if Brooks had to handle him one on one when many can't handle Casey's speed and power... Can't fault Brooks. You say it's flawed _ I say it's Bu775h1t...
You forgot Fitz...he's graded out well almost every game. I mentioned that last week, he had his worst game of the year, and that turned out to be true with his -5 grade. I know a lot of you like to deny it, but given his pass protection, he's done well for himself.
Why would you not fault Brooks? Lol, it's like giving offensive lineman a pass because they cant handle Watt...or giving Watt less points because he's going against inferior players. You get graded on the results. It's really as simple as that.
Brooks is an inferior player to Casey... Just like a majority of the offensive linemen are inferior to Watt. I'm not debating these flawed grades that you seem to believe are biblical... I'm saying if you ask a inferior player to handle a superior player one on one _ what do you expect to happen...??? That's more on the coaching staff and the blocking scheme than it is Brooks. Casey is arguably the only big time threat on that defensive line so there's no law against consistently double teaming him and giving him the J.J. treatment.
Ok, so not sure what point you are trying to make in regards to the scoring? You quoted the post that had given Brooks a bad grade because he got demolished by Casey. You're saying you're not debating the grades, but it didnt come across that way with your initial post. But, yes, obviously we should be adjusting OLine assignments to put our offense in the best position necessary. I didnt focus much on him, so I cant really say if coaching was at fault or the players were just outmatched. I just know that Fitz was pressured early and often.
I didn't mention anything about his grade. I said I didn't fault him for not being able to handle Casey one on one (in reference to the QB hurries he gave up). And yes Fitzpatrick was pressured but there were times he held on to the ball for too long as well. And that could be either a Fitzpatrick issue, WR's not getting open issue, and or play calling issue.

Meh, he's one of the sole bright spots on the 24th ranked defense in the NFL, I'm still convinced we got the better player.
Seems like pass rushers and defenders that create chaos in general simply have an easier time ranking well than other positions like WR.
yea, it's disappointing. at least clowney is healthy and can prove the texans right moving forward. he needs to step it up this week and help the team get a huge W
