    It's not as easy as just trading your 1st round pick, 2nd round pick, and Owen Daniels for Nnamdi Asomugha. First of all, no team would offer that much for any player not named Peyton Manning. This isn't the MLB or NBA. Trades involving players who make that much money in the NFL never happend and there is a reason for that. Nobody knows what type of cap there will be with the new CBA. Asomugha makes $16 million dollars which would would be like 12.5% of the salary cap from 2009. Mario Williams, Bernard Pollard, Owen Daniels are all due new contracts soon.

    Games I simply can't see us winning:
    @NYJ
    @PHI (short week road game)
    @TEN

    Game I would put down as can't win, but we're at home with a pseudo-bye to prepare:
    BAL

    We have a real shot at Indy, we both have a bye, but their defense is even more depleted by injury than ours. Peyton aside, our offense is simply better.

    SD is somehow an even worse Jekyll/Hyde team than us. Their two wins were against teams we haven't played (including a crummy Arizona squad), and they lost to KC and Oak. Still dangerous - Rivers has passed for over 400 yards twice (in losses).

    We should split or sweep against Jax, but divisional games are usually tougher than they seem on paper.

    I don't think Denver's very good at all....but they have been surprisingly effective in the air this season.

    It all comes down to whether the Texans show up or not, and sadly that's been a dice roll from week to week. The offense HAS to score 25 to 35 points each week for us to win, and that's frightening. Even crazier is that they've got the potential to do just that.

    I have them down for 3 Ls that will be really tough to avoid. Gives them only one more. @IND, @Jax, home for TEN, home for BAL, home for SD. Can only drop one of those, and they are all challenges.

    I believe the Texans could win any game on their schedule but at the same time I can see them losing any game. It's hard to predict what a team will look like in Week 12, 13, or 14 because of injuries. I see the Texans going 9-7 if I had to guess.

    Texans are 4-2. Time to fire Kubiak and go get Tom Landry or Chuck Knoll.

    The Texans are lucky to be 4-2...

    I just don't know where we are going to get help on the defense, it just sucks how bad we suck in the secondary.

    I think we have a shot to go 10-6, but man these guys really need to pick it up or it's bye bye kubs

    Texans are giving up an average of 28 ppg and haven't held anyone to less than 24. But go ahead and pretend that they're in A+ shape.

    We are one man down at the linebacker position. As much as I love Demeco, MLB is one of the easier positions on the field to replace on the field. His absence will be felt more in the locker room imo. Kevin Bently will be fine as a replacement. Dixon even played pretty well today.

    Quarterbacks do not throw to Nnamdi's side of the field, he is that dominant. Keeping the wrs covered longer will give the Dline more time to reach the quarterback. Guys like Kareem Jackson are getting beat one step into the receiving routes, giving the dline no time to get the QB.

    The TExans gave up TWO 2nd round picks and flipped 1st rounders for a backup quarterback. A 1st and a 2nd is hardly an outrageous offer for one of the most dominant defensive players of this generation.

    Nobody is saying they are in A+ shape but they are 4-2 including 3-0 in AFC. They have many flaws but so do every team in the NFL.

    it's just that their flaw is AN ENTIRE SIDE OF THE BALL BEING HISTORICALLY BAD!!!!

    i'm with you...they are where they are right now, and no one can take that away. but that defense makes me want to pull my hair out.

    Kevin Bentley is more than a special teams player. He is not going to replace Ryans. My guess is they move Diles to MLB and Adibi to WLB. There is no doubt Nnamdi is a damn good player but when you factor how much money he makes and what type of compensation it would take to bring him here, it’s very unlikely any team would trade for him. Cowboys traded two first round picks for Joey Galloway and that trade haunted them for years. They did the same thing for Roy Williams and that looks like a very bad deal. With more than likely a new rookie salary scale under a new CBA, 1st round picks are going to be that much more valuable because they won’t require huge salaries anymore. Quarterback always require premium so you can’t compare the Schaub trade to any deal for a defensive back. It’s not like the Texans are a Nnamdi away from winning the Super Bowl. Texans defensive line is terrible. You can’t blame the CBs for their bad play.

    The defense were terrible last year as well before turning it around in Week 6 versus the Bengals. I doubt they have the same type of turnaround this year but they have been many teams with terrible defenses who have made the playoffs. Colts really never have had a very good defense. The Saints defense last years was average as best. The upside is as bad as they have been the first 6 games, can they get any worse? I don't think so and they are still 4-2.

    no no no...the defense was awful through the first 3 weeks. but they started to turn things around by week 4.

    i'm not saying this team can't change. and i've argued the same thing you have with respect to saints and colts.

    never said they were A+ shape. but they aren't in dire straits either. they do need to improve on defense. nobody can deny that....

    but not everything is Kubiak's fault.

    honestly, dire straits is a perfect description of the state of the defense. turns out, worst ever is pretty bad.

    defensively, yes...but as a team, they are nowhere near 'fire the head coach' status. which 80% of the fans here would like you to believe.

    I really wouldn't be upset if they canned Frank Bush though.

    If they do not make the playoffs, how do you think Kubiak would keep his job?

    I don't know how, but I bet he would. McNair really likes himand believes in him. I just hope Kubiak/Smith and McNair have the balls to do something about it before it gets worse. (buh-bye Bush and KJ or hello Awesomewha)
