    Terrified? Will the children rise up against their parents now? Maybe "mortified" or "shocked" or something would have been better.

    It was funny a parent thought the teacher was referring to prostitutes by "mistress."

    Anyway, she's a little nutty, but I don't think it's that big a deal. She's at least half-right in each of the nutty things she's supposed to have said. Nothing to be terrified about.

    I think that most people have no idea that schools let complete wingnuts like that in a classroom.

    She needs to be taken to the principal's office and beaten with a 2X4.

    I love how the parents are so OUTRAGED by this when they are probably the same parents who are at home cursing in front of their children, letting them watch r rated movies, letting them play violent video games, smoking in front of them, drinking in front of them, etc, etc, etc.

    Stories like this distract from what crappy parents they are, that's why they get so worked up about them.

    Well not even certified teachers need an education degree if you go through an ACP.

    For substitutes in HISD, you need at least 60 hours and no less than a 2.0.

    ----

    If the district is having a difficult time filling full-time positions you can bet it's gonna be hard for them to find qualified subs.
