I actually feel sorry for David Carr. If I was him, I would demand a trade to a team that isn't a freaking joke.
Then you'd have to show a team that you're not a joke yourself. I don't see this Texans team getting any better this season.
thats harsh dude. They are the only winless team, they can do nothing but get better...however incremental. Think of it this way, if we get the number one pick in next seasons' draft, expect Capers to be fired along with the losing atitude we got around here. We might have to hire someone *gasp* with some freakin fire. We don't need another season drafting jason babin and trading for philip buchanon. We need a walter jones, jonathan ogden in 1st 2nd and 3rd rounds and maybe another guard or 5. my $1.00-.98=.02
This was truly pathetic...Now the nation knows how bad we truly suck...We will be lucky to win 1 game this year... "And with the first pick of the 2006 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select..."
I hate to say that one of my teams suck...but we suck this year...so far. I'll still watch every game though, and I will still continue supporting the team because it's my team, but for now, we suck.
How can we go from being middling and on the rise to being so BAD! in just one year? Is this a ploy to get Matt or 'Brickhouse'?
I wouldn't miss Dom and don't stop there. Fire Charlie Casserly for letting this happen. Even the anouncers said take Carr out before he got hurt and that was in the third quarter. The announcer recognized that there was hardly any pass protection. He blamed the whole fiasco on the coachng staff.
I starting watching this game at the end of the 3rd quarter. I saw Hasselback get sacked early in the fourth and I thought, "Hey, that was a pretty good defensive play...maybe they can use that to try and make a run..." ...then they promply run 20+ yards for the TD on the very next play, missing about five tackles...It was like watching a Keystone Kops movie..classic I think that the Texans should try to make and history and go 0-16. If you're going to be bad, you might as well make history. There have been plenty of 2-14 and 1-15 teams, but an 0-16 team is really something special. They Texans should just start all their third stringers for the rest of the season...oh wait, they might actually win a game or two...better go with what works and keep the starters in there...
No, it can ALWAYS get worse. Just you wait and see. This will be a 3 win or less season for the Texans. The entire coaching staff will be fired. The big question is what happens with Casserly. He erred greatly by giving Capers the players he wanted and now we have this disaster on our hands. While the coaching has been extremely bland and poor, it's the horrible personnel decisions that really stand out. By season's end, they will literally be back at Ground Zero and this franchise will virtually be starting over from scratch. Whoever becomes the next Texans coach (is Charlie Weis available?) will need at LEAST 2 years just to clean up the mess left behind by Casserly & Capers. By standing by Capers & Casserly, McNair overlooked a critical lesson from the days of the Oilers: it's not losing that turns off the Houston football fans, it's inept organization, stupid coaching and embarassingly futile onfield play. When you (McNair) ask people to pay through the nose for PSLs and game tickets, you had better make sure that the product you put on the field does not evoke memories of that other pro football franchise else you will pay a heavy price in terms of fan and community support. Folks are hopping mad at the Texans right now because they still care about pro football in Houston. Before Bud Adams slinked off to Tennessee, nobody in Houston cared about the Oilers anymore. Unless McNair wants to wind up in the same place, he'd better make the right decisions this next go round else it will be deja vu all over again in Houston.
I would like to see an exhibition game between the Houston Texans and the Lufkin Panthers (an undefeated high school team in East Texas). The Panthers are extremely well coached, highly disciplined, and very hard to beat. My money is on the Panthers. You laugh, but I am serious, I am not sure the Texans could beat them. The Panthers are really good and the Texans are really awful. I bet UT, USC, or Notre Dame would shut them out. Folks, the Texans are horrible, and they appear to have lost their one last most valuable asset, heart.
Me to. I'm actually hoping they can go 0-16 this season to become the worst team to ever play. It's something to shoot for.
