Houston Rox vs Washington Wizards in the first round of playoff if

how would you consider that the teams in the SW Conference play tougher competition than the other teams in the West, and much better competition than the East. Maybe Cleveland wouldn't make the playoffs in the West. Maybe.

 

What is sad is that two teams from the East make the playoffs if they were in the WC. Boston and Detroit.

The good news is that both of those teams will give any WC team a run in the Finals. I think Boston can actually win too.

 

If they changed the playoff process and the Rockets happened to win a championship, all the haters will say it was only because we had an easy first round against a weaker Eastern conference team which opened up the rest of the playoffs and all that crap . I say we keep things the same just to prove all the skeptics wrong haha.

Here is what I think will be fair and keep the games interesting

56 game regular season, everybody plays everybody else one home and one away game.

best 16 game advance to playoff

first stage playoff, 16 teams divided into 2 groups according to regular season record. Each team will play 14 game in this stage.

best 4 teams of each group advace to knock out playoff. The 1st seed of A group plays 4th seed of B group and vice versa, same goes for the 2, 3 seeders of each group.


Tie breaks will be head to head matches, number of away game wins, and points differential

In this system, bottom feeder play significant less games than the playoff teams. This punishes teams like Clippers, Griz ... They cant just dump their best player for eternal suckness, and still share NBA profits, because they would have much less revenues from seats, which are not shareable.

More games will be played among playoff teams, which are what fans want to see. And contenders play will not play much less games than as of right now, so they are not punished for less games.
