Just goes to show how dedicated Houstonians are towards their sports teams no matter what. Same case with the Texans being in the # 10 franchise in the WORLD in worth.
Wow! Les must be rubbing his hands together, dreaming of greenbacks in his future. Pretty amazing that Houston is the 5th most valuable franchise in the league. I wonder how much of that is attributable to "The Yao Effect?"

Yao will be Houston no matter what next season. He is just too valuable to any franchise and he probably thinks that he owes us a little something for missing so many games. Anyway, if we lose Yao and don't get him back next season, we'll probably drop at least $50-80 million in net worth.
really! thats not a good sign, the stros are worth alot and the texans are, and all 3 teams are under 500!
funny how dallas is number 6, but havent won a championship. Matter of fact, out of the top 10, 3 of them havent won a championship yet. 6.Dallas 8. Phoenix 10. Toronto
THe "Yao effect" helps the NBA as a whole, and Les Alexander personally. It doesn't do much for the Rockets franchise itself, as stated in the article majority of the income is derived from: 1. suites and club seats 2. Sponsors like T-mobile, Comcast and Toyota Are the sponsors and the people watching/sponsoring the rockets just because Yao Ming is there? I don't think so.
From what I recall reading over the years, Toyota Center is totally built to rake in the dough. That suite level is the place to be. Those empty seats on camera are making Les some serious coin. Personally, I like to just wander on down and sit in the pimp seats without paying for them, but somebody is buying those premium season tickets. That Jack Daniels Grill or whatever has got to be just killing it.
