Houston Rockets Uniform Design (Double-Slashes and all!)

Does anyone else feel the jersey is missing something. I'm not excatly sure what, but I feel it needs another color that stands out on top of the red. The silver is good, but it doesnt stand out over the bright red. In the pic of mobley wearing the jersey, it looks kind of plain. Jalen Rose is also seen in the pic, the bulls red jersey has the letters in black, which stand out. I feel that just looks better. It is easier to read the jerseys. I haven't seen the final product, but if the lettering is just in silver, I feel it will be overshadowed by the bright red background.

 

Yeah i mean im sure they are going to add some trim colors or something to make it spiced up. (or hopefully they will).

One more thing i heard is that the reason they are taking longer is becuase they are being made by Reebok which is using a newew fabric for the rockets jerseys much like Orlandos which has that kind of Shimmer to them if you know what i mean. I don't really like the idea of a kind of shiny jersey but never know until they are really done. Everything else is going to be just speculation.

 

Ahhh.............. I see someone has taken my advice from the "Digital Yao in new uniform thread" and did double slashes. Good job Greg, it looks great. Just one problem with them though. The slashes are NOT gonna be the same distance form each other all the way through. Underneath the arms, there is a big space between each slash that fades to a small distance on top of the shoulders. Same thing for the slashes too. They go from pinstripe width at the top to much wider and broader at the bottom. Its kinda like the drawing posted by RocketsNP, except the slashes DO not fade from TWO into ONE. Think "Star Trek" triangle logo, which fades in the same manner. In fact, the triangle shape on the Rockets new shorts should remind you of the Star Trek Triangle logo because they are almost exactly alike.

And regarding fabric, it is NOT going to be of full "DAZZLE" threading like Orlando uses. It will be a combination of "Dazzle" threads and "Dryfit" threads. Its almost like the type of material Golden State uses. The shade of red the Rockets wish for has never been made for this threading. So Reebok and the Rockets have been going through a back and forth session in an effort to try and come up with the correct shade of Red. It has taken Reebok a ton of versions of this red threading before they actually came up with a shade of red that closely resembles wht the Rockets wanted all along. This was a main reason for the hold up.

 

Sorry, I still think mine is most accurate.

 

The white one (with the silver number) look phenomenal.

I'm glad the league rejected the one with the logo on the front...

 

I am starting to get the warm fuzzies about the unis. I like what I have seen so far. By the way, how about the shorts? How will they look?

Great rendering Mr. Mooch, you're right, I think that's the most accurate puzzle-piece-ing job I've seen, and your superior Photoshop work once again made the entire presentation worthwhile.

 

IMO

A uni like that would be trend setting and it looks great to me. It appears to me that the uni looks a lot more natural with the logo on it instead of the name. Something just looks like it is missing with out the logo.

Add a little number on the sholder and a big number in the back along with the word Houston in a small font under the logo and it would be awesome.

True, but once again for the Millionth time............

the slashes DO not fade from TWO into ONE. they are TWO ellpitical stripes all the way through, just like in Gregtapper's rendering.

But the Elliptical stripes fade FROM THICK TO THIN correctly in your rendering. Gregtapper, pay attention to this.

If you combine both of the CORRECT parts of both renderings, you will have the new uniform.

Well comparing these pictures i would definently agree. Thank god because with big men that are tall (Bradley) they say they hope they can actually bulk up and he is showing signs of it which are very promising.

 

why is it that the unis arent gonna say houston? anyone know? is it a descision made by the front officce?

I hope that on the white home jersey's the slashes are silver as well with red trim around the neck and arm holes.

The red slashes look like crap.

Did anyone notice the ad in the Chronicle Sports page with Yao on it? It was a picture advertising season tix. The uni showed the stripes around the sleeves - just like those pix posted here.

 

Did anybody see the billboard on I-10 coming out of downtown?
