Poor Sixers fans. Imagine if you'd awakened to this headline 4 years ago:

Morey always in the middle of something.

 

and you know its all gonna come down to something 'everybody does' and he's being 'singled out'... if he wasnt always trying to push the parameters (Nene deal) then he wouldnt constantly be under scrutinization... he's the guy thats always looking for a technicality he can exploit... lol

Morey is always picking holes in the CBA - the Nene deal, the DMo sorta match, he is always wiggling around to find ways to gain an advantage.

Not breaking the rules, but definitely riding on the edge of them.

Point being, if ur someone thats always looking to play an angle - folks will treat you like someone who's always looking to play an angle....

hey, if there's an opportunity to bring in a superstar and maybe you have to push the parameters - you do what u gotta do...

but if yer gonna be a neidermeyer at every turn and try actively search out any opportunity where u can exploit the letter of the rules - even in opposition to the 'spirit of the rule'... then yer just a scurvy person...

If u tamper to try n get KD - yer being aggressive... if u tamper to try n get Danuel House - yer taking foolish and unnecessary risks... imo

 

Just now seeing this post. What an an awesome memory. Yao cracking up beside him and mentioning "this time it was home court" was just icing on the cake.

One of my top three team makeups of my Rockets lifetime. Right after the Clutch City championship teams and the Twin Towers iteration.

 

Morey was denied because we are the Houston Rockets. The Lakers, GSW, Boston and even the Mavs would have gotten away with it. The league was unhappy that the Knicks lost in 94 to the Rockets.

 

So much so, last year, the 'moon shot of the game' it's always them two. Garrison and Gordon.

 

I wish we could fast forward to training camp. Off-season is for the birds.

 

Stone was very much a part of every one of those “Morey moves” to try to exploit loopholes. If anything, Stone was a driving force behind those moves. I’m not worried about Stone continuing to act that way.

 

lol you think Morey wanted to do that with NeNe? It's Tillman being broke and not letting him spend into luxury tax. That's why he had to get creative with that contract..

 

Replace KMJ with Jabari and the results may be better than what people expect.
May be why the Rockets hold on to Ego to see how it looks.

 

Conclusion:
Eric Gordon was the difference between losing and winning.

 

Not having Wood or Tate in there next to Sengun helped too
