o.p.'s is obviously an error bag. will easily be worth more down the line (provided it is kept in mint condition).
yup got mine today, its a bit bigger than the gym bag I got from my group rep, they described it as a duffel bag, which is big enough where u can probably stuff it enough to use as luggage. not a bad gift, practical for anybody that travels a lot
My mentality of the season ticket holder gifts is that it's just a small added bonus as a season ticket holder. It's a kind gesture from the team thanking you for purchasing your tickets. You don't have to buy the tickets and they don't have to thank you with a gift. While it stinks for the op that his bag had a flaw, I sure would like to think that the Rockets are going to replace that one with a correct one. If you are buying season tickets for the gifts, then it's the wrong approach. It's for the discounted tickets you get for every game. It's for the fact that you are a fan of the team and are willing to show your support every night by sitting in "your" seat. While it would be fantastic to receive a $300 gift per say, it would cause season tickets to go up in cost. So you would in effect pay more for the "better" gift.
Maybe it would make prices go up for a $300 gift, but that doesn't mean they have to suck more every year. A few years back we got long sleeves shirts with a name on the back. They were pretty decent. And the year after, we got a cool little "crystal basketball" limited edition/numbered with the rockets logo in it. Then... we got the spalding co-ho'ed binder... it was nice, but had sponsor stuff on it. Yes, an official NBA brand sponsor, but still. Then... the pen (which I still use to this day and am looking at) which is nice, but if they're selling them at $50 a pop, they better just give those away again because it ain't no $50 pen. I no longer live in Htown, so I had to let my seats go for that reason among others, but when I left my rep (who was always very good, attentive and generous about everything... yes if I could remember her name I'd tell you) sent us a box of cookies with Rockets decoration (including a TMAC cookie that had an icing photo on it) saying they appreciated our support over the years. I didn't know it was coming, and it was full of ants when I got to it. The Shirt and the Globe were pretty awesome, so we started looking forward to whatever they'd send. Then they started sucking. I'm surprised that in an economy like this, with the team in the state it's in, that they didn't step up and go back to better gifts, but its true that this has nothing to do with the value of tickets for the true fan. Still, when you're paying the bill they send out with your rocket pen, you can't help but think that a nice little Rockets Crystal Globe would go a long way. As for the bag with the upside down logo, maybe it will be worth 10x the ones with it placed correctly... translation.... $1
ARE ANY SOONER FANS IN HOUSTON WATCHING THE BEAT DOWN THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN ON SATURDAY...I KNOW THE GAME IS AT NOON BUT WILL ANYBODY WILL BE AT THE SPORTS BARS THAT EARLY OR GOING TO HAVE A PARTY AT THE HOUSE...EMAIL ME reupdadj@tmail.com BEEN A FAN SINCE JASON WHITE DIDN'T NEED TO WEAR THE KNEE BRACES
I think the original "Fail" comment was aimed at the upside down logo. how can you complain about a free duffel bag? I would proudly travel with my Rockets tote bag. the blanket is nice too...
I like the season tickets because of the special events to, like the Christmas party and play day. What would also be a good gift, and most people would appreciate is a gift card to the team shop or a 10 or 20 % off in the shop, it's something that works for everyone. I love the blanket from last season and can't wait to use the bag when I go on vacation.
The best gift I ever got was the Rockets luggage. It's about 4-5 feet long, has a pull out handle and wheels on it. That was at least 5-6 years ago, maybe the year before we got the shirts with our names on the back. The funny thing is, I never even got a blanket last year for some reason (maybe because I moved?), and never really cared after seeing that I wasn't missing out on much. Pugs
There are so many things wrong here: All caps punctuation / grammar failures wrong thread / forum entirely At least you nailed the stereotype though: a Dumb Sooner fan that doesn't know that everyone is laughing at him. Maybe you should get some credit for that? (Oh, and I'm not a Longhorn fan either.)
I buy season tickets for the love of rockets basketball. All those extra stuff are just perks. I show up. I stand. Next years gift should be a replica of the 2009 2010 championship ring.
The only place this belongs is in the BBS Hangout. But I'm sure you knew that. That's what makes you so special. And yes, I am a Longhorns fan. Too many USC fans out here. Oh, and BTW, at least the Longhorns didn't have to resort to running up the score towards the end of the season so they could be voted into the BS (uh, BCS) championship game.
Well as you can see, I have only posted 26 times so I dont know where such and such should be posted. I was just was speaking my mind. Do not get mad that your sorry DBs could not tackle sorry boy Micheal Crabbtree. I feel sorry for Colt (T.Lewis, Ryan Reynolds, English & Beal ) will each have a sack against that weak O-Line
