    Bucks for Jrue Holiday
    Cavs for Kevin Love

3/4 of the teams likely in the conference finals.

    KAT/ Mikal with the Knicks
    Gobert with the Wolves
Pacers are built around two major trades with Haliburton and Siakam

Even the team that didn't trade for a current star acquired SGA as the prize from the Paul George trade.

The Warriors had a generational player in Steph and generational defender in Draymond and still thought it was smart to add KD.

If you have the chance to add a top 5 player still in their prime and can realistically put a great team around them, you do it.

I was completely out on Giannis a week ago and I've done a full 180. This theory that the Rockets can build slow just isn't the reality anymore. Amen and Sengun have separated themselves as stars but you have Jalen who likely thinks he is a star, you have Jabari who probably thinks he can be a star, Tari clearly thinks he can be a star based on his mom's twitter, Reed has every right to think he has star upside still, Cam thinks he's MVP level. It's time to consolidate.

I suggest you look up the numbers.

    Jokic carries, Giannis does not.

Middleton and Jrue were great players. Jrue had the best plus/minus in the series and Middleton averaged 24.

That’s not including elite depth in Lopez, Portis, Connaughton and Tucker

My guess is that Jabari Smith is likely not part of any deal. Strangely, the 2 guys who seem extremely likely to stay in a Giannis move (to me) would be Reed and Jabari. The shooters stay if Giannis comes in.

More likely Tari is part of a deal (and Jock to balance salaries?).

No minutes available for Tari anyway with Giannis here.

Again, the big question is, how do we get a 3P shooting big man (and which one)? Or can Jabari play the 5? He hasn't bulked up enough to start there full time IMO.

I'm of the same opinion. You do everything to keep Jabari and Reed on this team in any deal, regardless of who it's for. This team desperately needs shooters, and those are literally the two best we have.

[Owczarski] Giannis will not be traded this summer. The greater likelihood is, well, never.

I'd rather go after KD and Cam Johnson but wouldn't cry if we got Giannis.

honestly, as much as I hype up making the Giannis swing, my favorite scenario is FVV + #10 + whatever picks LA wants added for Austin Reaves + Vanderbilt + salary (Kleiber) and then finding a trade partner for Brooks.

This moves the needle further imo.
I would also like Bane to fill that role.
Core stays intact and the home grown growth continues/

Yep. The clock starts ticking when you get Giannis. If we haven’t won in 3-4 years, we are stuck with whatever team is left over from the trade. There will be no good picks left to get another young front court player to replace him. In the meantime Wemby and Flagg will be in their prime while the Rockets figure out how to catch back up.

IF you can get a Reaves or Bane for FVV or Brooks and #10, I agree, you get to punt 1 more year and really see how good these guys are without fear of regretting for selling too early. I just don't think FVV and Brooks are the right veterans to allow this team's parts to take that next step. I think both are better for winning but both are unhelpful for development. Tari/Bari/Amen/Cam would benefit from having Brooks minutes and Jalen/Amen/Reed/Sengun would benefit from having more opportunity to be the lead initiators.

Straight up, I take the next 12 years of Sengun over 5 of Giannis.

Giannis wasn't much better at the same age, definitely could have similar trajectory.

Imagine a 2 man game with Giannis and Amen? either can be the ballhandler or the roll man, you're not stopping both of them down hill, and Giannis is good enough in the mid-range for a pick-and pop wrinkle to throw in. You cannot stop that, I don't care how many people you put in the paint. This isn't Jalen ****ing twig-legs Green, it's Giannis, if you stand still for a charge he'll euro you, if you move he's going through you. It's like if Shaq was in shape.

You have to be joking. 2 non shooters doing a pick and roll? Amen and Giannis PnR is like Shaq and Dwight PnR. Just don’t guard either of them give them the shot.

Do you know how a pick works? The defenders don't get to run freely. Ok, name 2 defenders who can both keep up with the speed, bounce and size of Giannis and Amen at the same time? Which teams can stop it?

nah. Cooper is their poster child. Marketable image, American unlike luka. They want him to be the face in this new Mavs era while they bring casinos and a new resort with new stadium. Its about dollars always been.

Have to think about it. Let's say the price is Alpi+1 of tari/bari+cam+#10+a couple swaps/picks. We'd significantly upgrade the C spot (at least short term) and only lose one real contributor from the current team. We'd still have all our own picks plus a couple of future swaps/picks. Had we made that trade at the deadline we're probably favorites to make the WCF this year. Our defense would be even more nuts. It's tempting for sure.

Not sure I do it. Kinda want to see if Alpi can continue his intensity on D while getting back to last year's efficiency. Also would like to see if Amen can pass Jalen as the 2d option (I like Green as a number 3 if he keeps improving his playmaking & D). Then again, Giannis put up a 30.4/11.9/6.5 on 60.5% FG.

its not Nico. Fall guy. Owners control the league and that’s no secret. Dollars are the bottom line. Giannis will go to a market where the league and owners want him. Houston is looking attractive but Spurs have the cash cow Euro market giant Wemby and with Giannis they will exploit that market further and gain more inroads with European fans. Do not be surprised if he ends up in San Antonio

how would this offense work? Honest question. How do you play those 2 bigs and give them both touches in the half court

I’m starting to think that trading for Giannis isn’t going to leave enough for us to field a championship team around him.

But what if we hold onto
    Sengun
    Amen
    Bari
    Tari
    Reed
    Cam
    Dillon

and go out and use Jalen, #10 and one of our other picks to trade for a really good shooting guard.

    and bring back
    Fred
    Steveo

that gives us a really good 10-man rotation, all the guys are gonna be a year better, and we basically still have our picks and our best prospects for future moves. Or maybe we package one of those guys with Jalen to consolidate.

Doesn’t that sound better than giving up half our prospects and all of our picks for 3 yrs of Giannis? I think there are better pathways forward for this team.
