Shaq to the Miami Heat, again, didn't need to think about it. Are you sure you watch basketball? Lol.
Shaq was not the best player on that team, are you sure you watch basketball? There is no way you watched that series and came to that conclusion lmao. Even if you didn't watch that series, you can look up who won the Finals MVP, not that hard. Again, you guys are holding out on a Giannis trade being a once in 80 year anomaly.
Again, you tried hard. Shaq in that season - 2nd in MVP voting, 8th in DPOY, NBA 1st team Dwade in that season - 8th in MVP voting, 21st in DPOY, NBA 2nd team, def 2nd team. Make it make sense.
LMAO you are also wrong about KG, Paul Pierce won the Finals MVP and So did D Wade. Those are the best players on the finals teams. Try again. There are zero instances in 80 years. The Finals MVP in those scenarios were drafted super stars. Your lazy attempts just proved you wrong.
Brother in Christ… Shaq was not the best player on that Miami heat team. wade was historically dominant in the playoffs that year
Paul Pierce was probably the best player on that team. And the Celtics didn’t JUST trade for KG, they also got Ray Allen, who was a borderline superstar himself. Allen became a role player later in his career, but he was a #1 option for Seattle before going to Boston. That’s about as balanced a Big Three as you can get.
Better example than either of the ones you mentioned: Kawhi Leonard to the Toronto Raptors. (never mind, Kawhi wasn’t 30 yet!)
To be fair, there’s never really great odds to win an nba title. I think the “it hadn’t been done often before so it won’t happen here” argument is a poor argument against trading for Giannis. you can make stats say anything if you add enough qualifiers. “the first rocket ever to get 23 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds, on 47% from field, 36% from 3 in only 28 minutes of game time on the road in a 20+ point blowout” type thing. I want Giannis cause he’s a top 5 player that could put us over the top.
That was the series the refs had money on miami and let wade call his own fouls. I was rooting like crazy for miami to beat dallas and even rooting for miami it was pretty icky to watch. 97 free throws in 6 games. Only playoff series in his career he got over 60 FTA.
Its possible, I just prefer a route that has worked out more often than the route that depletes a team's supporting cast. It all comes down to the price we pay. Historically a proven star has always cost a team too much that they can not win it all. I would prefer an up and coming star (similar to the SGA, Halliburton, Brunson, Harden to Houston trades), or one that is a lot younger than Giannis. The alternative is just paying less for Giannis than what has historically been paid for a star of that caliber. There are too many stars that become journeymen after being traded at 30+ years old. You have to take into account fit, health/style of play, and also the added pressure to win once you have left the team that drafted you or the team you built your reputation with. The issue w KD, CP3, Westbrook, and Harden jumping teams every couple of years is there is a lot of pressure to get it right, each year that goes by is looked at as a wasted year. There is a lot of pressure to build a system around those players and the right teammates. Anywhere Jimmy goes it feels like there is tremendous pressure to win, and the locker room suffers as a result.
Bro it was between Nash and Shaq for the mvp. So what if Wade went off, thats like if Jamal goes off in Denver, Jokic is still their best player
Let's get real, Alex Len, Rudy Gobert, Alexis Ajinca, Frederic Weis, it is overwhelming that the numbers are against you , there are dozens of ring less French bigs with nearly 100 seasons in between them. Face the truth
At least Thanasis will help cheer our team on . Swear to God, we probably have one of the worst home crowd in the league.
