Everyday I think about how bad this trade would be for us We will trade half our players and be left with an aging Giannis and declining FVV. Makes me want to throw up Spurs will have Harper / Castle / Wemby for the next 10-15 years while we regret trading for Giannis after 2-3 years
Haha maybe. I was with a bunch of Spurs fans last night and they were saying on draft night they thought #2 guaranteed them Giannis but now they just want to draft Harper. Like me they don’t think the trade will be worth it in 2-3 years
I agree with them, Giannis wouldn't be worth it. The Spurs have very little going for them at the guard spots and would probably benefit more in the long term from Harper if he can hit 3's at a respectable rate
I agree long term Harper would be the play for the Spurs. Castle will suck if he can’t develop a 3 pt shot. I guess what has to be considered is Wemby’s window. Is it 3 years, 4 years or longer. If it’s only a few years they should probably go all in on Fox, Giannis, and Wemby as their core.
There's a world where the Spurs throw all of their draft capital at Giannis, Wemby falls apart, and they spend the next 5 years fighting for the play-in. What's the history of high-usage guys of that size holding up? Ilgauskas, Sabonis, Ralph Sampson, and Rik Smits all had similar profiles, all had injury problems. At a certain point physics come into play.
I could see Miami being on his list, but Miami doesn’t have the draft capital, but Adebayo and Herro would be pretty enticing to the Bucks, but then would Giannis still want to go to Miami with no one else to help him compete.
No to Giannis if we do not keep Amen and Sengun. If we give up too much we will just go from our present situation to being just like Milwaukee-- not able to get 2nd seed in the west with few assets to improve with to improve with.
The Rockets made Sengun what he is "a fringe all-star". If he gets traded to Milwaukee, watch his stats fall. We've definitely maximized his value and it's time to cash in on it.
Pretty sure Şengün made himself an all-star despite the team consistently trying to replace him or feature other players. He just keeps rising to the top regardless what else is happening around him. it’s true, nobody knows the future, he may never improve further, he could regress, he may get injured and never play another game. Anything is possible. What I do know is he is confident, fearless, creative, and constantly busts his tail to improve. I for one think he will continue to improve.
I just set it around the main picks of them getting the number three and Sixers getting the number 10 but other draft picks would have to be included not sure that’s even something the Sixers would want to do anyways the other key here is you would re-sign Steven Adams so that you could have the double big lineup that worked so well for the entire game but upgraded. Then bank on Sengun taking another step with long distance shooting (not necessarily 3s) and then signing someone like Malik Beasley with full mle for shooting/spacing
Literally every single thing the Jalen fans aka Sengun haters have spouted off the past four years about why Sengun won't amount to this or he's bad because of that..... he's come out and utterly embarrassed them by proving them wrong. Yet there's still utter clowns who despite all this, come out and claim the 22 year old who's done nothing but improve year after year and eradicate weakness after weakness, is done and won't improve any further. It's even funnier when the same people then turn around and say the guy who has not improved in 4 years is still worth holding onto. Make it make sense.
Maxed his value. LMFAO. A 22 year old who has done nothing but improve year on year in different aspects of his game, has maxed his value. Funny, I think a team who'd have just the slightest off ball movement (remember how good he looked with just a single player like KJ moving off ball), and wouldn't constantly put on a pedestal and prioritise a guy who is a negative to everyone on the court star treatment, would get a tad bit more out of Sengun. Clutchfans really has some terrible takes.
This comparison does not make sense at all. There are not many french centers over 80 years, but hundreds of star players have been traded over 30.
Ok, so one time in 80 years that a guy over 30 gets traded and wins as the best player. Not really great odds.
