I read in a couple of different articles that he's still having trouble with his foot. So that may be the reason why. What little I watched of a few of his dleague games he looked pretty invisible. Admittedly I wasn't able to watch a whole lot of them.
The rockets need big body for tomorrow game because the lakers' game plan will be simple, attack and attack yao and get him into early foul trouble!
Hayesfan, have u watched courtney sims of the iowa energy play? He's the best big down there avg 22-12-3blks 78% ft 56 fg. He's 6'10 about 240. He makes way more sense than dorsey.
A friend and I often wonder how this happens. Hamed Haddadi the Iranian center put up like 6 pts 5.5 rbs and is on an NBA team. Cheikh Samb went down had 12 & 7 and he's on an NBA team. But Courtney Sims with twice their numbers and way better FG % will somehow go overseas to be forgotten. Just how it goes.
Marcus Fizer tore it up in the D-League. I thought he was going to carry on that through to the Bulls but i guess it's just the lack of quality big men in that comp.
Speaking of D-Leaguers, has anyone caught Coby Karl's play? His numbers look good and his dad is talking about signing him to the Nuggest. Wonder if he's worth a flyer for Morey to sign. It would be great to have TMac, Artest and Coby all on the same team, no?
I sure wouldnt mind seeing Coby Karl play some point guard on this team. But if there already wasnt Von Wafer, or Luther Head or Brent Barry.... Otherwise I say Dorsey even undersized fills a bigger need for now.
Hell NO! Let him go play for daddy but he was garbage last year and I don't see him doing anything except warming a bench in the NBA. And as far as Dorsey is concerned, I think he is gonna be D-league material for the rest of his career unfortunately. We need a trade.
All I'm saying is if dorsey can't even out do hayes in the d-league, why do we expext him to contribute with the squad? I brought up Sims cause at least he long and killing the d-league.
um, this makes no sense on any level. the rox just said they were "disappointed" in his play, and that he probably had 6 quarters of good play out of all his games in the nbdl. so, they call him up to the nba?? they just brought back deke as an extra big. tracy & ron are forwards, so dorsey doesn't spell them. they don't have to recall dorsey to trade him, and I don't see us trading one of our bigs right now either (at least I hope not). wtf???
On the local news cast Channel 4. They said that Dorsey was sent back by the Rockets to rehab with their medical staff. I don't know what is going on here, was he just sent by the Rockets to play or is he still having his foot problems and needs special treatments?
Here is the link to the video of Dorsey being recall on channel 4 (Rio Grande Valley) http://www.valleycentral.com/sports/video.aspx?id=245832
Nice find, injury treatment with the Rockets experts here in Houston for his foot and then back to Rio Grande Valley it sounds like when he heels
Getting some extended practice time with the Rockets (and probably working with their medical staff on his foot problems) are the reasons for his call-up. This is just about the first time all season that the Rockets have an extended homestand and some time in between games to actually PRACTICE. If the schedule had been like this all year, then Dorsey likely never would have been sent down. Players can stay in shape with regular practice time; the problem occurs when the regular season schedule gets too congested to fit in enough practices, or injuries ravage a team to the point where it cannot run a 5-on-5 scrimmage in practice. At that point, it becomes more prudent to get a young player some playing time in games down in the D League. Dorsey can get some treatment, hopefully get in some quality practice time with the Rockets' coaching staff. Then, in a couple of weeks when the Rockets hit the road and T-Mac and Artest are back, Dorsey can go back down to the Valley and get more playing time in games. Hopefully, he'll perform better next time around.
Plantar fasciitis is a horrible thing to have when you’re a basketball player. There is not much you can do as far as rehab. Rest is the best cure, which you can’t do by running up and down the court.
