I think that's because a message board draws in fans that are a bit more fanatical. But on a sports radio show, you get a much broader segment of fans. It just seems like a radio show is more mainstream and the internet is more of a specialized niche audience. It doesn't hurt that CF.net is by far one of the best message board communities I've ever been to. It's built up a fan base, and a reputation over a number of years. On some boards populated by twelve year olds, you won't find these knowledgable posters.
