JT THe BRICK IS a scrub. Iremember during the superbowl, i found his show on 790. he was doing a show from the hooters at kirby. anyway, that guy sucks. if you don't know who the Brick is, the Brick was the first winner of the Jim Rome Smack Off.
That's good to know. I thought I was a minority of 1. I've tried to listen to him; but most of the time, his idea of what sucks is totally different from mine.
This just in. Ron Zook fired by racist Athletic Director. I'm sorry...these callers just really get on my nerves. No, it had nothing to do with picking fights with Frat members, or losing 4-5 games the past 2 years...the AD must be racist! We need GrEgOnOmIcS to screen phonecalls for SR610. this is exciting news to me, all i listen to is sports radio and this gives me more shows to choose from. does anyone have a sound clip of bob kemp? if it is who i am thinking of then i really didn't care for him much. someone in here mentioned we will get 30 minutes of the mike and mike show. i've never heard the show before but i like golic alot (not sure about the other mike : \) why only 30 minutes? is that as long as the show is? also i noticed rich eisen is listed on the sportingnews website under "radio talent" does that mean he has his own show? if so i really hope that gets picked up here. i heard him host the rome show last week and he was awesome. how i rank the shows: 1. rich and charlie 2. john and lance 3. jim rome 4. dan patrick 5. matt jackson 6. gamenight 7. vandermeer (love him as the texans announcer, but he is really boring to me on his show and he is way to gimmicky with all the sound effects and such) BTW i just dl'ed a clip of JT the Brick and he sounds like a total tool
All I'm going to say is to please not let Daivd Dulatti have any show...this guy is the most negative person on the radio. I swear, after listining to him for 10 minutes every Houston team sucks and is going nowhere and every caller is wrong no matter what. Damn he pisses me off. And if you guys want some type of video game show, Sirius has a show every Sunday night and monday morning call the Patrick Morrow Video Game review..its pretty cool.

I used to love Bob Kemp. He was brutally honest. So what that he bashed Houston teams? At the time, they deserved it. If you want cheerleaders, listen to Matt Thomas or something. I think Charlie Palillo is hands down the best sports radio personality on the air. I can't remember the last time I disagreed with him on a subject. I like his air of cockiness and condescending attitude towards most callers. I don't like stupidity and I think you deserve to be told you're basically an idiot if you say something stupid. Rich Lord I can live without. I used to love Arnie Spanier before he got canned. The guy didn't know a damn thing about sports but was absolutely hilarious. I really don't mind Rome or Patrick. Actually, I can tolerate most people. Anyone but Kenny Hand.
You guys are right, Bob Kemp really sucked! I've been listening to 610 since it first started with Mike Edmonds & Ed Fowler. Ed used to annoy me, but I miss him now. One guy I can't stand on 610 that nobody has mentioned is Granato! Lance is funny, especially with his Holtz/Mack Brown/De La Hoya impressions, but Granato is an idiot. He adds nothing to the show and thinks he knows so much. He just comes off real pompus and arrogant. All he's good for is the trailer wheel and frame commercials. I rather hear J Fizzle than John. You can't beat Rome, that guy is just too funny. Probably not the best sports mind, but he's entertaining. Now Dan Patrick, that guy is pure boring talking about his hair 90% of the time and Rob/Ron/Rex Dibble is just plain annoying!!! They talk all over one another and try too hard to be funny. That show simply sucks and if it moves from 610 I'll never switch my stations from 2-4. Mike & Mike is pretty good in the morning, if you're up that early and so is Todd Wright if you're up really late. I'm a sports radio junkie and I would love it if Craig Roberts came to 610. I grew up watching that guy on Ch 2 and him and Bob Allen are the best sports anchors in town. Berman is a close second b/c he gets all the stories. Giff annoys the hell out of me. Someone needs to give him a hair cut. Only reason to watch Ch 11 is Lisa Foranda! But Chance, do what you can to get Craig Roberts and avoid Russ Small at all cost. Oh ya, btw Chris Wragge sucks and I'm glad his pretty boy ass is in NY now. He used to get drunk at every Rockets game that I saw him at. He used to punk people out of their seats and not sit where the media was supposed to, so tha he can get his drink on. Loser! We should start a campaign to bring Craig Roberts on 610, nobody will listen to 790 then.
I miss Mike and the Mad Dog. Actually...I miss the callers on Mike and the Mad Dog as well. One of the things I have noticed while listening to sports radio down here is that most of the callers are extremely uninformed when it comes to sports. They all think Davis Carr is the second coming of Joe Montana and that there are no college or pro teams outside of Texas that can actually compete...or have good players. The callers here are also very uninformed about the leagues policies/agreements etc as well. It surprises me because a bunch of people on this board seem to be very informed on various sports subjects/teams etc. Granted, anywhere you go, you will always have the sector of callers who will come up with these ridiculous one sided trades for the home team...and NY has its share for sure...but the callers/listeners, for the most part, are very informed. They are informed about their own team and they are informed about the rest of the teams. I listen to some of the callers down here (and some of the hosts as well) and its downright ridiculous at times.
I totally agree that Houston sports talk show callers are fairly ignorant. How many times does the host have to say that Bagwell has a no trade clause, or you can’t trade Mo Taylor for Jason Kidd, or whatever. People on this board are a lot more informed. The difference is like night and day.
