If this turns into a Houston vs. New York showdown, well I think history has shown a precedent: We will win... in game 7. Either that, or we'll trade them the shuttle for Tracy McGrady.
Yankee prick... <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/leNsvK9V8PA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
As pathetic and douchy as he is, he has a point...more people will see it in NY, however, when you think of NY, you don't think space shuttle or anything so it's kind of ridiculous... I still believes one of the shuttles belong here...it's just a travesty that its not going to be here...
We're ranked 8th in Most Visited Cities in America, so we're no slouch http://www.forbes.com/2010/04/28/tourism-new-york-lifestyle-travel-las-vegas-cities_slide_4.html Granted it's mostly regional people but what's wrong with that? People in the middle of America don't get/want to see Space stuff? Do they need 3 on the East Coast? Plus people come to Houston mainly for the Space Center.
Thought I saw somewhere that Houston's Johnson Space Center gets more annual visitors than the museum in New York where the shuttle is going.
That's likely true since almost everyone who comes to Houston goes to the Space Center. New York has a lot of other attractions. You could argue potential for NY but that's only if you want to ignore 1.) Current visitor numbers 2.) Discount History totally
3) It's freaking NYC not the home of the space program. (so if Houston gets the Statue of Liberty do you call it even?).
Sheila Jackson Lee on CNN Live just now talking about her ongoing efforts to get a shuttle to Houston.
yea, it's like they're just mocking us. insert "nelson's ha ha" pic you can't have the real thing so we'll just humor you.
