Maninthebox & Deuce, you guys make some good points about the Clips and the pick trades. I think #15 and KT could at least get us the #12 from the Clips. If Wagner falls to them at 8 which is what a lot of people are predicting, they'd be pretty much set in their lineup if they pick up KT and re-sign the Kandi man. Right there, the 12 would be up for grabs and I would take the #15 and KT for the 12 over Randolph and the 20something pick from the Blazers.

I don't think Woods would fall all the way to #15 but 12 sounds a lot better to me. Woods has a lot of raw talent and athletic ability and would probably make a good substitue for Odom. Besides, the Rockets loved his workout here and he said all the right things about the city, orginization, and about playing w/ Steve and Cuttino. I think he would be a good fit and a Ming/Woods draft would sound pretty good to me, espicially since I'm a little shaky about Ming.

Just a thought, we are talking a lot about #15 and KT to move up. There has been some talk from Doc Rocket that KT won't be traded? If not then that means he would be a big part of the team. Then one would surmise that someone would be shipped out. Perhaps Cato? He has some value and is a center. Would the Clippers want his services at a backup center?

Again, I know that we would have to take on a "cato contract" in return but could we move up to #8 for #15 and Cato?

    Just a thought

As someone said the Clips are loaded with draft picks. If they move they likely move up for multiple picks, not down to pick up even more picks. If we move up from #15 (via KT, Cato, multiple picks, etc.) the more likely trade scenario than the Clips at #12 IMO are to Miami for #10 or to Washington at #11. Both teams are far less loaded than the Clips and both I really think want an immediate improved team (Wash to retain their Jordan buzz from last year, and Riley I am sure just hates not having more decent players to turn to) would be more likely to try to get 1 decent vet plus a slightly lowered picked rook for a slightly higher drafted rook.

The Rockets should get in a 3 team trade w/ the Clippers and Warriors.

    First, the Rockets draft Ming.

    Clips get Ming.

Warriors get Odom and 8th pick.

Rockets get Kandiman and 3rd pick. (Possibly Wilcox)

I actually would like this trade if everything isn't cleared with Ming.... we get Kandi AND our choice of Butler/ Dunleavy.

Sounds like the Rockets may be thinking about a trade with Golden State. Warriors want Wagner at 15. Maybe we trade our 15 this year for their 1st rounder next year and assume that they'll be terrible again. Not too much of a stretch and we won't have a 1st rounder next year due to the swap with Memphis as part of the Francis deal. Sounds like a smart move to me. But I'm sure it would hinge on Wagner still being there at 15. I would take it one step further and swap 2nd rounders this year to ensure we got a nice complimentary player?
