Apparently, governmental censuses are false claims and assumptions, oh brother

It's funny, you claim Houston's economy/market THRASHES Austin's. I just provided stats that shows that Austin's is just as good, if not better as of late. You claim Austin is racist while Houston isn't. I provided stats to show that that isn't true, especially considering there is segregation of housing in almost ANY CITY. Apparently, you just don't get it. I understand though, you feel threatened by the fact that the things I'm saying are at least backed up by stats. You're right on the highland mall issue, I didn't agree with it closing either but the busineses have a right, considering the money flow that it generates compared to SXSW.

You have also obviously not been to Memorial/Gessner area. Absolute segregation. Your claim that Houston is better because of Austin's racism hasn't been backed up, nor is it valid considering the equal amount of racism in ANY CITY.

Why all the links? When have I talked up the job market or economy? You did and I just agreed with you. I got you talking about how Houston's a better city, thanks again.

You- "Houston has a bigger job market"

You again- "Austin's economy is actually one of the better ones out there too, maybe not as equal as Houston's"

Oh my bad, now your ten year old stats are talking about segregation of about 5% of Houston's population. And the Asian segregation is because we have Chinatown. Does Austin? :p

There are a lot more reasons that Houston has a higher minority population than just a better job market, and the fact that Houston is the largest US city without a racial majority is one of them.

Like it or not, Austin still has a reputation for being a "white" city (fair or unfair) and that's a turn off for a lot of folks, not just minorities.

I say Houston is bigger because it's the 4th largest city in the nation. Obviously it's a "bigger" market...

LOL, using Chinatown as an excuse.

Nope, it's spot on. Problem is, you tried to use a quote in which they were talking about Pacific Islanders and pass it on as "general segregation in Houston." You got busted.

I claimed Houston's economy thrashes Austin? When? Where? Are you smoking weed? Did I agree with YOUR statement, sure. ;)

You provided stats of Pacific Islanders and frankly, I don't even give a rat's ass about your other stats, I didn't even click on them since I never said a word about the economy.

YOU don't get it, you can't segregate minorities so when there really isn't big discrepancy of the numbers between minorities and the majority.

According the the 2000 census, which you are so fond of, this is our racial breakdown, Non Hispanic Whites 30.8%, Blacks 25.3% Hispanics 37.4%!!!

Yeah, your really going to be able to segregate those numbers real well.

Hey whatever your reason, you said it not me.

Your the one who went link crazy for nothing. LMAO!

Ok fine, our Asian community is segregated, but guess what, we don't shut down the Toyota center when they come watch Yao play. :p

Maybe if the "made it rain" from the upper level. We would even ask Yao to leave. HAHA!

So apparently you can't read, it says Asians. This is the second time I'm mentioning this. The stat also shows for hispanics. Again, have you been to the memorial/gessner area? I10 splits, similar to what I35 does.
Also, The stat was COMBINED for both groups Asians and Pacific Islanders by the census. Are you incompetent? high?

And apparently, segregation for Asians is okay according to what you are saying because it is only a "small population". Also, what is "GENERAL SEGREGATION"? Mind explaining? Does it mean segregation doesn't apply to certain groups????

I think what you said are obvious Pros for living in Houston and Cons for living in Austin.

Many Austinites have taken offense to what I've said, but what I said is just the truth.

I can read. What I read is you posting up 10 year old stats of the Asian and Pacific Islander's segregation. Seriously? You had to find something ten years old and about one of our smallest groups?

Uh, yeah, been all over Houston, people of all colors and backgrounds everywhere. That tends to happen when there really isn't a majority. ;)

I was just going to let you have Asians to shut you up because your embarrassing yourself. But ok.

Asians may be more segregated than any other group of minorities in Houston. Why? People tend to like to live where they work. A lot of the Asian community work in Chinatown, so naturally, they live nearby. By the way, because your so predictable, all racial groups shop and visit this area daily, unlike the segregated areas of Austin.

So even the little segregation you find, is purely convienience and nothing more. Visit Chinatown sometime, it's pretty cool. You can bring all your friends and make it rain all you want. They will not close up shop. ;)

Believe me, I have tried. I started bringing up other subjects such as Zoo's, Furniture stores etc...

But some people are just so touchy about certain things. :(

not anymore. its pretty gentrified over there now.

there is another issue as far as long-time residents being driven out by increasing tax rates, but again, this is something that is happening in large cities all over the country.

So you must frequent the malls quite a bit. Where you there when they got scared at Highland Mall because of the black people and shut it down like T-mac?
